Bottom Line

The Grand Oaks Hotel is a clean, budget-friendly hotel with more up-to-date rooms and on-site features than most comparable hotels in Branson. Most rooms have comfortable king beds, and there’s a free continental breakfast daily with both hot and cold options. The hotel also has free Wi-Fi and parking, as well as indoor and outdoor pools, on-site laundry facilities, and a small gym. The immediate neighborhood doesn't have much to offer tourists, but Silver Dollar City, a popular theme park, is just a 15-minute drive away. The hotel is just off the 76 strip, and is near enough to the Ozark mountains and the picturesque countryside surrounding Branson. The Grand Oaks Hotel caters primarily to families, but does offer a small business center and three meeting rooms for business travelers.

Grand Oaks Hotel

Scene

Smart and clean, if a bit basic, with a laid-back atmosphere

From the street there's not much to distinguish the Grand Oaks from any other budget hotel, but, inside, the updated classic decor and meticulous cleanliness make the hotel stand out in its class. The lobby is simple but welcoming, with marble-effect tiling and office ceiling tiles,  and is most bustling when guests are headed to the free breakfast. The hotel feels open and spacious, and there are plenty of seating areas in the lobby where guests can congregate. Being a roadside property, there’s not much in the way of gardens and grounds, although the outdoor pool deck is a pleasant enough place to hang out in the warmer months. The hotel primarily caters to families and tourists looking for a pleasant, affordable place to stay while exploring Branson.

Location

Just off the 76 Strip and close to Silver Dollar City

Branson is famed for its live music and theaters, and the Grand Oaks Hotel is located within easy reach of many. The Hollywood Wax Museum is a two-minute drive away and the Dixie Stampede Dinner Attraction can also be reached in less than two minutes by car. Silver Dollar City theme park is a 15-minute drive away, and there's a Panera Bread next door for a quick bite to eat.

Rooms

All rooms are clean and spacious with basic amenities

Rooms at the Grand Oaks Hotel are meticulously clean and come in a range of sizes, from a Double Queen to a large Grand Oaks Suite. Rooms were renovated in 2014 and feel like mid-range chain hotel rooms, with modern furniture. Decor may be simple -- a combination of neutral magnolia tones and dark wooden accents -- but all rooms are large. The bathrooms are big and standard motel-style, most with shower/tub combinations and bars of soap and soap dispensers as the sole toiletries. Each room has a hairdryer, microwave, mini-fridge, and coffeemaker, and some even have jetted bath tubs next to the beds.

Features

Indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs, free daily breakfast buffet, laundry facilities, tiny gym, and three meeting rooms

The hotel is geared toward both business and family travelers and its amenities reflect that. There are two average-size pools -- one indoor and one outdoor -- and each has an accompanying hot tub and surrounding chairs. A small gym is equipped with weights, a treadmill, exercise bike, and elliptical machine, and there's a small business center and three meeting rooms. The free, daily hot-and-cold breakfast buffet offers omelets, waffles, bacon, and cold items; the breakfast room is functional and bright, with plenty of natural light. An on-site laundry room has coin-operated washing machines and dryers. There's free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
