Bottom Line

Set just outside Branson on Table Rock Lake, Still Waters Resort is a family-friendly, lakefront getaway with a wide range of outdoor activities, including fishing , basketball, kayaking, waterskiing, swimming, and splashing in the 15-foot waterfall. Condos and motel rooms are large, bright, and modern, with lake or pool views, while suites have fully equipped kitchenettes; note that toiletries and food (including coffee) are not provided. There's no on-site restaurant or bar at this mid-range resort, but there is an small marketplace on the grounds, and there are barbecues and picnic areas for outdoor picnics. Still Waters Resort

Scene

Outdoorsy, family-friendly resort with rustic charm

The Still Waters Resort is all about the great outdoors, thanks to its impressive natural surroundings at Table Rock Lake and numerous activities for both summer and winter seasons, including hiking, mountain biking, swimming, and fishing. The hotel's exterior strays from the typical lodge aesthetic of the area, with more brick than timber, although the condos themselves are made out of attractive dark wood shingles. Inside, the lobby is clean and welcoming, with polished hardwood floors, leather sofas, wood paneling, ceiling fans, palm tree wallpaper, and rugs.

Location

Right on Table Rock Lake, in the Indian Point Resort Area, a five-minute drive from the Silver Dollar City theme park

The Table Rock Lake-side location is the biggest draw for guests staying at Still Waters Resort; guests can reach Silver Dollar City in less than five minutes, and get to central Branson in just a bit longer. Marvel Cave, a stunning National Natural Landmark, is only a five-minute drive away, and the Dixie Stampede Dinner and Show is a 20-minute drive into Branson. The picturesque Indian Point Park is under a mile away. Uncle Ike's Trail Ride -- where you can go horseback riding -- is a five-minute drive up the road. There's little in the way of restaurants and shops within walking distance, but parking at the resort is free.

Rooms

Large, bright, and minimally decorated, many with kitchenettes and outdoor patio areas

The rooms and condos at the Still Waters Resort are large and bright, with lots of beige, wooden furniture, and Venetian blinds. Most of them open to patios or balconies, which add natural light. Most rooms have flat-screen TVs and contemporary decor, as well as large kitchenettes. Some of the suites have full kitchens, which are especially popular with families, as are in-room laundry facilities in some. Bathrooms aren't large, but do have clean showers and bathtubs, although some guests complain about the poor water pressure and lack of toiletries. Surrounded by the forest and lake, the rooms are quiet, and the private furnished patios are a nice spot to relax after a day of activity.

Features

Full range of outdoor activities, including a full-service marina with free kayaks, but no restaurant

The Still Waters Resort has a seasonal marina with five covered boat docks and a fleet of rental boats, including pontoons, WaveRunners, and motorboats for water skiing. Guests can also bring their own boats to dock for a fee. Kayaks and paddle boats are available to borrow. In addition to the swimming dock in the lake, there are three regular pools with hot tubs, two kids' pools, and a waterslide that’s open seasonally. Families with young children should note that there's no lifeguard at the waterslide area. The Island Oasis pool area has daybeds and hammocks, as well as a 15-foot, walk-through waterfall. Bicycles, with helmets, are available to borrow, and there are plenty of hiking, biking, and jogging paths through the surrounding woods on Indian Point Peninsula. For kids, there's also a playground, open seasonally. There's also a sand volleyball area, basketball court, and horseshoe toss game next to a pavilion. The only thing that disappoints is the lack of a restaurant or continental breakfast served on-site, but there is a market on the grounds where you can stock up on food. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.
