Bottom Line

This upscale Marriott is located in the center of town opposite the Brussels Stock Exchange and in walking distance to many tourist attractions and public transportation. Many of the 221 guest rooms and suites have city views and are equipped with flat-screen TVs and minibars, but Wi-Fi is only free to upper-category-room guests and Marriott Rewards members. Guests staying in the Club Rooms and Suites also have access to a swanky executive lounge where they can enjoy free breakfast, refreshments throughout the day, and evening cocktails. The hotel has a restaurant as well as a small fitness center, while business travelers are catered to with meeting rooms and a business center. All in all, this Marriott is a solid option, but travelers could also compare rates with the landmark Metropole Hotel, which offers Old World ambiance and free Wi-Fi throughout.

Brussels Marriott Hotel Grand Place

Scene

Upscale chain hotel with elegant, contemporary interiors

Brussels Marriott Hotel Grand Place occupies a large corner building on a busy street. Once through the glass revolving doors, guests arrive in the spacious, uncluttered lobby area: there's lots of natural light thanks to large windows, plus white-tiled floors add to the sensation of space and light. Olive green contemporary-style sofas are clustered around a sleek coffee table, but other than a couple of stylish armchairs and the reception counters along one wall, there is very little furniture taking up space. The hotel's restaurant and bar is similarly sleek and stylish, with a dark red and brown color scheme and modern furniture. Most guests staying here tend to be business travelers during the week, while weekends see many couples visiting the city on vacation.
