Cyan Americas Towers Hotel

The mid-range Cyan Americas Towers Hotel occupies a simple eight-story structure with a gray facade and a borderline dated (but well-maintained) lobby decorated with pale-wood siding and velveteen furniture paired with marble floors in shades of off-white and rust-red. The small bar/breakfast area sits just above the lobby, with additional seating at tables and chairs. A pair of elevators connects the lobby to the seven stories of rooms above it, and hallways have plain blue-gray carpeting and a couple of chairs by the elevator banks for those who might need them. Guests are a mix of tourists and business travelers, and the hotel has amenities for both. 

Cyan Americas Towers is located smack-dab in the heart of La Recoleta, one of the safest, most upscale neighborhoods in central Buenos Aires. Residential La Recoleta is one of the city's grand dames, with marble buildings and top-notch boutiques lining busy streets full of locals and tourists alike. Alvear Avenue is one of the main thoroughfares in the area, and has some of the most beautiful Parisian-style apartment buildings in the neighborhood, including a couple of magnificent palaces. But it's not all about shopping here -- the neighborhood is home to major attractions like the National Library, the cemetery where Eva Peron is buried, a handful of art museums, and some interesting art galleries. However, you'll have to rely on your two feet or take a cab to move around because there's little to no public transportation available in this area.

The hotel is one block from 9 de Julio Avenue, the city’s main thoroughfare, and a two-minute walk to great shopping and dining on Santa Fe Avenue. The historic Colon Theater is around seven minutes away on foot. Further afield, it's a five-minute drive to shopping on Calle Florida, while Casa Rosada (the Presidential Palace), the Metropolitan Cathedral, and lively Plaza Dorrego (with its wonderful Sunday antique market) all take 10 minutes to reach by car. It's also a 10-minute drive to the Obelisk, one of the most recognizable sights in Buenos Aires. Popular San Telmo Market, the Museum of Modern Art, and the shops and restaurants of Puerto Madero take closer to 15 minutes to reach by foot. It's a 20-minute drive to the Caminito neighborhood and to Boca Juniors stadium. The domestic Jorge Newbery Airport takes 10 minutes to get to without traffic. The Ezeiza International Airport takes around 40 minutes to reach. 

This hotel offers two types of room: 28-square-meter (301-square-foot) Superior Doubles and 30-square-meter (323-square-foot) Deluxe Doubles. Size is the main differentiating factor between the two categories. Both types have city views and follow the same decor scheme, with wood-finish floors, dark-wood dressers, desks, and headboards. Simple framed prints of ships at sea on the walls coordinate with velveteen periwinkle bed runners and pale-gray bedskirts with matching blackout drapes. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, safes that are big enough to accommodate laptops, minibars, and individually controlled air-conditioning. Tiny bathrooms are pleasant enough, and come with bidets, marble walls and countertops, small hairdryers, and shower/tub combos (with jets in the Deluxe Doubles). 

This hotel offers great amenities for business travelers and tourists alike. Breakfast is served buffet-style in the on-site restaurant, Miro, which also has a bar full of spirits for cocktails later in the day. The morning spread features hot and cold items such as eggs, pastries, and fresh fruits and is included in room rates. Leisure amenities include a small outdoor pool on a private deck surrounded by buildings. There are a few lounge chairs, but the area doesn't get much sunlight. Just next to the pool is a compact fitness center with treadmills, weight-training machines, and kettlebells. The hotel also has two large meeting rooms for rent and a business center with a guest computer. Wi-Fi is free. On-site parking incurs a fee.
