Bottom Line

Vista Sol is a simple, modern property almost feels more like a complex of urban studio apartments than a mid-size, mid-price hotel. The standard rooms are small, but the sophisticated, minimalistic design leaves a surprising amount of useful space. The hotel has little more than a small fitness center and sauna, plus a basic restaurant, but it is clean and centrally located to tourist attractions and the city's business center. Overall it's a nice value -- in this city, it's easy to pay a lot more for a lot less.

Ricana BA Center Hotel

Location

Nestled between the financial district and shopping central in downtown

Vista Sol is located in in Microcentro, the heart of downtown Buenos Aires, near Buenos Aires' financial district, San Nicolas, and the busy shopping and residential district of Retiro. It's within walking distance of popular tourist sights, but it's not a center for nightlife.

There's so much to see and do in Microcentro that some visitors never leave this area when visiting Buenos Aires. It is the core of downtown, with wonderful shopping areas such as Calle Florida, tourist attractions such as Colon Theater and the iconic Obelisk, entertainment venues, an interesting dining scene, and a wide array of hotels. It is also one of the few areas in Buenos Aires that is well connected via subway to the rest of the city.

  • 37-minute drive to Ministro Pistarini International Airport
  • 4-minute walk to Calle Florida, a main shopping area
  • 9-minute walk to the Metropolitan Cathedral
  • 12-minute walk to Casa Rosada, the Presidential Palace
  • 13-minute walk to historic Colon Theater
  • 13-minute walk to Palermo Soho, a hopping area full of restaurants, bars, and designer boutiques
  • 14-minute walk to the Obelisk, one of the most recognizable sights in Buenos Aires
  • 9-minute drive to Puerto Madero, full of bars and restaurants
  • 9-minute drive to the Museum of Latin-American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA)
  • 11-minute drive to lively Plaza Dorrego, complete with a wonderful antiques market on Sundays
  • 11-minute drive to the Museum of Modern Art
  • 11-minute drive to popular San Telmo Market
  • 15-minute drive to the Botanical Garden
  • 15-minute drive to iconic Caminito, a colorful neighborhood
  • 16-minute drive to the zoo
  • 16-minute drive to the Boca Juniors stadium
