Bottom Line

The Hotel Du Golf Barriere is a grand, upscale property which provides a peaceful golfing oasis away from the bustle of central Deauville. The ocean is visible from the golf course and from many of the hotel's 178 spacious rooms, as well as from one of the two on-site restaurants. The property also has tennis courts and a heated outdoor pool, but there's little else to do in the immediate area. Rates are comparable at the more luxurious Normandy Barriere, the hotel's sister property in the town center, so if golfing isn't your thing, you're better off booking there.

Hôtel Barrière L’Hôtel du Golf Deauville

Scene

Grand, traditionally styled property with sleek, spacious interiors

The Hotel Du Golf Barriere is one of the three grand, upscale properties owned by the Barriere Group in Deauville, and its main draw is the extensive golf course that surrounds it. The hotel itself is built in Normandy's traditional semi-timbered style of architecture and has a columned entrance adorned with colorful flowers and potted shrubbery. Visitors are met by two black horse statues, the motif of the hotel, in a sleek and spacious lobby area, which is tastefully styled in muted contemporary and metallic tones. Wide hallways and stairways are finished in the same palette. The atmosphere is peaceful and laid back, and a modern country-club vibe attracts predominately golfing guests keen to escape to the green.
