The Chatham Motel

A tree-lined street leads to Chatham Motel, a relaxing budget property comprising three buildings covered in shingle siding. A small office with blue shutters sits at the front of the property, and there's an intimate reception area with a Keurig coffeemaker, a microwave, and newspapers. This budget motel is simple, with few features, but given the affordable prices most guests are surprised by the pleasant and inviting interiors. Paved roads on the property cut through lawns and pine trees. Budget-minded travelers, especially those with children, give generally positive feedback to this quiet and welcoming property.

The Chatham is on Main Street, next to a Dunkin’ Donuts and near a few family-friendly restaurants, but the wooded residential area also has a rural feel. Nearby the motel is the Cape Cod Trail, good for cycling, and Harding Beach is a five-minute drive. Downtown Chatham is about a 10-minute drive away. There tourists can find fresh seafood at the fish markets and watch seals on Chatham Pier. It’s about 10 minutes by car to the Chatham Lighthouse Beach and Chatham Windmill. Also 10 minutes away by car are ferries that depart from Stage Harbor to the Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge. Cape Cod Airfield is about 40 minutes by car. The livelier Provincetown is an hour away by car.

Simple and clean interiors create a welcoming atmosphere in rooms, most of which are on the ground floor and have flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, mini-fridges, irons/ironing boards, coffeemakers, and one king or two double beds. Furnishings aren’t fancy, but they’re well-maintained and include low-pile carpeting or wooden laminate floors, light wooden furniture, and neutral or blue textiles. Decorative details like brass drawer pulls and framed prints of sailboats add an extra level of polish. Standard and Superior Rooms are the most basic options, followed by Deluxe Rooms, which are situated in a 19th-century schoolhouse and have microwaves. Some rooms also have Keurig coffeemakers. Clean bathrooms have hairdryers, shower/tub combos and basic toiletries (soap and shampoo). There’s also one ADA accessible room. 

At the center of the property is an outdoor pool with a seven-foot deep end that some guests feel is too shallow, but travelers with children may appreciate it. It's surrounded by a deck with pink and black chairs. There's also a grassy lawn with a cement patio and a playground with a swing set. In the lobby, guests are free to use the microwave, Keurig coffeemaker, or free Wi-Fi. Newspapers are also on hand. On-site parking is available.
