Bottom Line

This family-run property is ideally located on the Adriatic Sea within walking distance of Milano Marittima, a small town with shops and restaurants. Aside from easy beach access (no streets to cross), this value-laden, family-centered resort has a heated pool with retractable roof, excellent all-inclusive food service, and recreational activities. Popular tourist attractions are a short car ride away. However, the low cost is thanks (and not thanks, depending on how you look at it) to generic, basic standard rooms with tiny showers. Updated rooms, however, are spacious with sleek decor.

Oyster Hotel Review

Hotel Majestic

Scene

A contemporary interior designed for families

Built in 1957, this six-floor tower hotel shows its age upon approach, but inside the lobby is contemporary with an all-white design warmed with wood floors and gray accents. A cute little play area with pint-sized seating and toys entertains kids during check-in. Everything is organized to make life easier for Mom and Dad; there are high chairs, cots, games, and activities. The all-white theme continues into the private beach club, where white tables, chairs, and umbrellas sit on a patio and groupings of chairs and sofas create conversation pits on the sand.

Location

On the Adriatic Sea, close to amusement parks and ancient cities

The Majestic is located directly on the Adriatic Sea and near the end of the hotel strip, so there's very little traffic. For families, it's ideally situated between the amusement and water park Mirabilandia and Italia in Miniatura, a park with 273 miniatures of famous Italian and European buildings. For those comfortable with longer drives, more historical sights can be found at Ravenna, the city of mosaics, and the charming Republic of San Marino.

Rooms

Choose from modest (read: drab) or high-style units with minimalist decor in white motifs

Classic rooms are modestly furnished with ceramic tile floors, old-school bedding, and little artwork, but the ‘80s style formica wardrobes and shelves provide a lot of storage space. The tiled terracotta and white bathrooms are small but functional, equipped with both toilets and bidets as well as sliding shower arms. The showers, however, are tiny.

The Pois Superior units pick up on the all-white motifs established in the lobby and have a modern interpretation of a four poster bed along with upgraded bedding and a sofa. The bathroom, done in graphite mini-tile with white fixtures, is attractive, and the spacious shower has a rain head. Most rooms have balconies; the sea-view option is preferred. Standard extras include robes with slippers, flat-screen TVs, and mini-fridges that come stocked or empty as requested. Wi-fi is free.

Features

Glorious beachfront with loungers and recreational fun

The private beach club has plenty of loungers, conversation areas, and tables for meals. Diversions include a cheerful playground with a mini-trampoline, table tennis, a bocce court, and an outdoor pool with retractable cover. Free bicycles with or without baby seats are available to borrow while organized kids’ activities give parents time to relax. The all-inclusive plan is extensive with full buffets and vegan/vegetarian offerings. Tennis (free) and golf (for a fee) are five minutes away, and free Wi-Fi is offered throughout the property.
