Comfort Suites

The Comfort Suites' lobby, with its black leather sofas and marble-top coffee tables atop polished marble floors, makes a good first impression. Gleaming dark wood frames the oval reception desk, the adjacent doors, and the two columns flanking the breakfast area. Glass panels with tanks of bubbling water act as room dividers for the dining space. Elsewhere in the hotel, the indoor pool and whirlpool area give a sunny spot to linger on several loungers that receive plenty of natural light from a wall of windows. This hotel draws a mix of families, couples, and business travelers. 

The Comfort Suites is located in the middle of a busy commercial area in the northwest Cincinnati suburb of Forest Park. It's about three minutes off the Interstate 275 beltway that circles the city, and it's close to several restaurants and shopping. Three restaurants are within a one-minute walk, and several more are less than a five-minute drive. A supermarket and a shopping mall with department stores and restaurants are a two-minute drive from the hotel. Jungle Jim’s International Market and the Sharonville Convention Center are about a 10-minute drive. Dozens of businesses are based in Blue Ash, which is a 15-minute drive, and downtown Cincinnati is about 30 minutes away. The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is a 35- to 40-minute drive from the hotel.

The 84 suites at Comfort Suites Forest Park all share the same rather standard decor, with two-tone brown carpeting in square patterns and beige walls and drapes. Bright white linens have rust-colored throws and dark-brown bedskirts. Furniture is generic in mostly matching dark wood with slight reddish accents and includes headboards, nightstands, coffee tables, dressers, and desks with media plug-ins. Most rooms have tan upholstered armchairs and green or blue upholstered sleeper sofas in partially separated sitting areas. Colorful, contemporary art decorates the walls. 

Options include king and double-queen beds, and some suites have kitchenettes with full-size refrigerators, dishwashers, and sinks. All suites have pillow-top beds, microwaves, coffeemakers, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and mini-fridges (if not full-size). Bathrooms have granite vanities and tile floors, and some suites have whirlpool tubs placed outside the bathroom. The hotel is quiet for the most part and far enough off Interstate 275 to avoid highway noise, but some guests complain about hearing noise from adjoining rooms and hallways, stained carpeting, and malfunctioning whirlpool tubs. 

Though there's no full restaurant or bar, the Comfort Suites includes a few extra perks that increase its value. A free hot breakfast is served daily that includes eggs, and a weekly manager’s reception includes free appetizers and soft drinks in the late afternoon. Coffee is available throughout the day, and a small convenience store next to the reception desk sells snacks and sundries. Free weekday newspapers are on hand in the lobby as well. A small indoor heated pool and whirlpool area offer a spot to take a dip and includes several lounge chairs. The fitness center has several cardio and weight-training machines along with a watercooler and towels. A computer station with Internet access and a printer is available for guests' use, as is meeting space. And guests can connect to free Wi-Fi throughout the property. Valet laundry and dry cleaning is available, and there are self-serve laundry facilities on-site. The hotel offers free parking on its lot.
