Sandpearl Resort

Clearwater, Florida, United States

Sandpearl Resort is a luxury beach hotel located a half-mile from Pier 60, Clearwater Beach’s main gathering place and site of the nightly Sunsets at Pier 60 Festival. The 253 upscale rooms and suites all benefit from twice-daily housekeeping service. Standard amenities in the rooms include flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and Keurig coffeemakers, and the one- and two-bedroom suites have full kitchens, washer/dryers, bathrooms with separate tubs and showers, and separate living rooms with sleeper sofas. Sandpearl's property features -- yoga classes, a beachside pool, a luxury spa, a fine-dining restaurant with lovely vistas -- are some of the best in town.

Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa

Clearwater, Florida, United States

While Sandpearl offers both hotel rooms and suites, Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa has only suites, available in one- and two-bedroom configurations. All 287 units come with kitchenettes or fully-equipped kitchens, as well as flat-screen TVs and upscale furnishings. Private balconies showcase views of the white-sand beach below and brightly colored sunsets in the evenings. (Of course, the higher the floor, the better the view.) This resort's feature list is almost as good as Sandpearl's: it includes an eighth-floor pool with amazing sunset views, multiple on-site restaurants, a spa, a fitness center, a kids' pool, and babysitting services.

Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites on Sand Key

Clearwater, Florida, United States

The upscale Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites on Sand Key is a large family-friendly hotel with a dash of tropical flair -- though it doesn't entirely shake its corporate chain hotel vibe. Its 200 homey one-bedroom suites all have lovely bay views from balconies, as well as wet bars, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and microwaves. They measure about 500 square feet and have sofa beds and 42-inch flat-screen TVs in the living rooms plus 37-inch TVs in the separate bedrooms. Be aware that in-room Wi-Fi comes with a fee, unless guests are Marriott Club members. (Wi-Fi is free at Hyatt Regency.) Also note that there's a slight disparity in room quality, with some units more recently updated than others. Outside of the suites, features -- like a kids' club, a year-round outdoor pool and bar, a steakhouse, and a 24-hour fitness center -- abound.

Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa

Clearwater, Florida, United States

Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa is a 416-room chain hotel that caters everyone from vacationing families to corporate travelers. Its wide variety of rooms and suites is mostly differentiated by views and beds (one king-size and two double bed options are available). Rooms have views of the gulf, park, harbor, or hotel interior, while all the suites have private balconies that look out on Clearwater Beach. All rooms and suites come with black-out curtains, flat-screen TVs with premium cable, safes, coffee- and tea-making facilities, and mini-fridges. Rooms were renovated in 2016, but some issues still linger, such as thin walls. The hotel facilities here are particularly impressive, and include a fitness center and spa; multiple restaurants, bars, and pools; and a wide array of event facilities for meeting and weddings. This remains one of the better options on Clearwater Beach, but travelers could also look into the slightly more upscale Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa, which offers comparable amenities plus rooms with full kitchens.

East Shore Resort

Clearwater, Florida, United States

East Shore Resort is one of the top-rated places to stay in Clearwater. Unlike our top four picks, which are large resorts with ample facilities, East Shore Resort is a simple and quiet apartment-style property on the bay side of the beach, a few blocks from the beach, shopping, and dining. Its 10 rooms range from studios to one- and two-bedroom suites with full, modern kitchens. Some rooms have screened-in porches and face the water. There isn't a ton of features here, but East Shore does have an outdoor pool and a boat dock and laundry room (with cleaning supplies) that guests can use for free.

6

Palm Pavilion Inn on Clearwater Beach

Clearwater, Florida, United States

Palm Pavilion Inn is a value beachfront hotel within walking distance of several restaurants, shops, and parks in Clearwater Beach. The hotel's 25 simple, tropical-themed rooms come with traditional amenities, while its one-bedroom apartments have fully-equipped kitchens with ranges, microwaves, coffeemakers, and full-size refrigerators (but no dishwashers, which are found in most of East Shore's suites). All rooms have air-conditioning, 32-inch flat-screen TVs, safes, and free Wi-Fi, and some offer gorgeous ocean views and patios with seating. Daily housekeeping is provided. The property, in addition to direct beach access, has a lovely outdoor pool surrounded by lounge chairs and Beachside Grill & Bar with food, drinks, and live entertainment.
