Scandic Webers

Scandic Webers is situated in a square six-story building from 1887 with a white and gray facade finished with ornamental details. The hotel is part of the Scandic Hotels chain, which has over 200 properties in Northern Europe. Its decor pairs simple, modern style with classic architectural details and floor-to-ceiling windows that let in lots of natural light. The general color scheme is gray and white, but wood accents and red pops of color add warmth. Most areas of the hotel are pleasant but somewhat generic and built for function. In the lobby, a gray tiled floor meets white walls and a wood accent wall with a cutout reception desk. A few upholstered chairs sit under modern pop art. The bar is the hotel's chicest common area, with lots of natural light, a mosaic tiled bar and backsplash, orb-like silver pendant lights, and plenty of seating on long couches and black and red chairs gathered around small tables. Overall, it's a good choice for travelers seeking something centrally located -- particularly those wishing to be close to the main train station -- and it attracts a varied clientele, including solo travelers, families, and business guests. 

Ideally located in Copenhagen’s Vesterbro district in a hotel-filled street on the main drag, Scandic Webers offers convenient proximity to shops, restaurants, public transport, and local sights. A three-minute walk takes guests to Copenhagen’s Central Station (Kobenhaven H), which can carry guests to almost any city location within 20 minutes, including the airport. The station also offers regional train service to other national and international destinations. Most major city attractions can be reached on foot or via public transit in 20 minutes or less. Parking is available next door for a discounted price, and bikes can be rented through the hotel for an extra fee.

Scandic Webers' small rooms display straightforward modern decor with simplistic wooden floors, white walls, and wood-laminate furniture. Each room features a print on the wall (usually an abstract nature closeup in red) that's generic but bright. Contemporary bathrooms feature nice white subway-tiled walls and black tile floors; most have wet-room style showers. Guests sometimes complain that furniture shows signs of wear-and-tear. 

Rooms range from downright tiny single Economy Rooms, measuring as little as about 100 square feet (10 square meters), to the more spacious Junior Suites, which can be as big as 430 square feet (40 square meters) and sleep up to four guests. Standard Rooms are also  quite small, measuring between 118 and 215 square feet (11 to 20 square meters), though tiny rooms are typical of central Copenhagen hotels. 

Rooms contain desks, flat-screen TVs, laptop safes, free Wi-Fi, and mini-fridges. Bathrooms are stocked with hairdryers and FACE Stockholm toiletry dispensers. Upgraded rooms may contain coffee/tea service, sofas, extra TV channels, bathrobes, and/or bathtubs. Rooms have AC -- not a standard amenity in Denmark -- but guests sometimes complain that it's noisy or weak. Lower floors facing the street tend to be noisier, as there are some nightclubs on the block.

Scandic Webers has amenities geared toward busy travelers. There's a cafe-style restaurant that serves a free, extensive breakfast buffet that includes hot and cold options like scrambled eggs, meats and cheeses, pastries, and breads. A pleasant courtyard offers outdoor seating. A stylish bar/lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows serves up drinks at a mosaic tiled bar, and there's plenty of seating on long couches and armchairs gathered around small tables. 

While the hotel doesn't have its own fitness center, guests have access to the fitness center and sauna at the Scandic Copenhagen Hotel, which is a four-minute walk from Scandic Webers. Other on-site amenities include three meeting rooms, the largest of which can host up to 30 people. A computer and printer are available for guest use and Wi-Fi throughout the hotel is free. A small convenience store offers light snacks, drinks, and traveler essentials. Pets are allowed for an extra fee. The front desk is open 24-hours, bike rentals are available on-site (extra fee), and the hotel offers a parking discount at a garage next door, though it's still pricey.
