The Square Copenhagen

The Square has a high-end chain hotel vibe with a few quirky touches. Guests enter the lobby through large glass doors flanked by big green apples resting on podiums. The hotel lobby is large and modern, with several seating areas -- some with board games or checkers boards -- ambient lighting, and a small, cozy lobby bar. Additional apple statues and alcoves, with real apples in them, can be found throughout the lobby. The central location and multiple meeting rooms make it a popular choice with business travelers, although plenty of tourists use the Square as a convenient base for exploring Copenhagen.

The hotel is situated on a busy road, next to Kings New Square in the city center. The central location means that the area can get busy, and there's usually a fair bit of car and bicycle traffic throughout the day. There are also plenty of bars, cafes, and restaurants in the immediate vicinity, and the Tivoli Gardens are a two-minute walk away. The main railway station is a five-minute walk from the hotel and getting to the airport takes about 20 minutes by car or public transport. 

The rooms at the Square are classically decorated in a modern chain hotel style, with dark-wood headboards and furnishings, navy pinstripe carpets, red throws and curtains with a hint of gold. All rooms come with flat-screen TVs, minibars, coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi. The bathrooms are modern and simple, with frosted-glass sink units and matching doors. Some rooms have shower/tub combos; those in lower-priced categories have walk-in showers. Many of the rooms look out on Kings New Square, but a high level of soundproofing means that even rooms with busier views are free of traffic noise. 

The Square has a number of services for business travelers, including free Wi-Fi throughout and four meeting rooms on its sunny top floor, two of which have terraces. Dogs and cats are allowed, and the hotel provides treats, bowls, and waste bags for dogs. Dog walking can be arranged upon request. A buffet breakfast served in a sunny top-floor breakfast room is available for a fee, although it is included in some packages.
