Occupying a whitewashed building set on a clifftop that offers stunning sea views, this hotel is a polished choice for a sunny seaside getaway. Palm trees, lush greenery, and flowering bushes complement the white facade of the property, studding the well-maintained grounds in green. Interiors are a bit dated, but are clean and pleasant enough; dining spaces are elegant and polished, ranging from the pattern-filled Alhambra Bar that features pretty azulejo tiling, to the Emperador Restaurant with its crisp white tablecloths and picture windows offering beautiful sea views. Guests here are leisure travelers, mainly couples from Spain and other parts of Europe seeking a sunny beach vacation, and the atmosphere is tranquil and calm. 

The hotel is situated on a cliff that offers gorgeous views over the sea and direct access -- via steps and wooden walkway -- to a lovely stretch of beach, Playa El Asparalló. This is a nudist beach, however, so it might not suit all, but there's another beach, La Caleta, that's a minute's walk from the hotel, while Playa del Bol Nou is an eight-minute walk away. The hotel is set on the eastern outskirts of Villajoyosa, a small coastal town east of Alicante, in a largely residential area that's home to a couple of other hotels. There's a supermarket within a 15-minute walk of the property, but for many more shops, dining options, banks, and other services, the town center is about a 10-minute drive away. The nearest train station, Paradis, is a four-minute drive from the hotel (or a 15-minute walk). The Villajoyosa station is eight minutes away. The nearest airport is in Alicante, about a 35-minute drive away.

Rooms are spacious and clean, but decor is fairly dated -- though it's pleasant enough. Patterned bedspreads match the curtains, and all rooms have seating -- even entry-level standard rooms have small tables and chairs, in addition to desks as well as armchairs. Large windows and glass doors let in lots of natural light to make the spaces feel bright and airy, plus they open onto private furnished balconies/terraces, many with beautiful views of the sea. Rooms in the Paradis tower have access to an exclusive pool. The largest room in the hotel is the Presidential Suite, which has a separate living room with a dining area and a kitchen, a massive terrace, and a whirlpool tub plus a separate walk-in shower in the bathroom.

Standard amenities include flat-screen TVs, electric kettles, free minibars, electronic safes, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms, though a bit dated, are clean and pleasant. Most are equipped with shower/tub combos, while some also add separate showers. They come standard with magnifying mirrors, hairdryers, and toiletries.

The hotel has an attractive, but small, outdoor pool situated on one of its terraces that's built into the cliff. Umbrellas and loungers line the surrounding pool deck, offering gorgeous views over the sea, plus there's a poolside bar. There's also another smaller pool, plus guests have access (via staircases and paths) to a lovely stretch of pebble beach that's lined with loungers and umbrellas. Wellness features include a small fitness room that offers a couple of machines, plus there's a tennis court on the grounds. Spa facilities include steam rooms, a hot tub, and a pool with various jets. A number of treatments are available, including massages, facials, and waxing. 

Dining-wise, there's a lovely restaurant with beautiful sea views that serves regional fare for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Buffet breakfasts are included in rates. There's also an atmospheric bar with a lovely terrace. Other amenities include common spaces in which to relax, like a lounge, as well as meeting and event space. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the property.
