Bottom Line

King Evelthon Beach Hotel & Resort is a four-pearl, all-inclusive hotel overlooking the sea, a short drive north of Paphos. There are 375 rooms and suites here, all with bright decor and furnished balconies, most with full or partial sea views. The hotel also has a number of swim-up rooms with semi-private pools along with lovely suites with whirlpool tubs. The resort's star attraction is arguably its huge water park, with seven tall slides plus splash areas and a lazy river. There's also a quiet indoor pool that's more suited towards adults plus a huge lagoon pool separate from the water park with views out over the sea. Note that it can get busy here during summer high season, contributing to an impersonal vibe -- but it stays open year round. For a more intimate alternative, consider the 95-room Amphora Hotel & Suites

King Evelthon Beach Hotel & Resort

Scene

Bright and upscale family-friendly resort hotel with bright interiors and sea views, popular with package tourists

King Evelthon Beach Hotel & Resort is a large, seven-story property that opened in 2014. Unlike many hotels in the Paphos area, it's open year round, but things are definitely at their busiest during the summer months and school holidays, and it can feel a bit crowded and impersonal. Common areas are modern and bright, with white interior and exterior walls and lots of white furniture, with the occasional pop of color here and there in the form of turquoise-dominant seating areas in the hallways or hot-pink chairs in the airy lobby bar. The hotel itself is shaped in a horseshoe formation around a pool and facing out toward the Mediterranean, so most of the rooms and public areas have at least partial sea views. Most guests here are British or European package tourists, with lots of families and some couples.

Location

Seafront location, a short drive north of Paphos or south of Coral Bay

This resort hotel straddles the sea, just north of Paphos, on the road that leads up to the UNESCO World Heritage listed Tomb of the Kings (a three-minute drive or 25-minute walk away). It's about a 15-minute drive to the Paphos Archaeological Park, which features a number of ancient attractions, including the Paphos Mosaics. Lighthouse Beach is a seven-minute drive away and Coral Bay takes 12 minutes to reach by car. There’s a branch of the popular discount supermarket LIDL under 15 minutes away on foot, and plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance, including a British pub and an Indian restaurant. Kings Avenue Mall, a two-story shopping complex with lots of international brands plus a cinema, an arcade, a kids' play area, and a food court with a few American fast food joints, British sushi, and coffee chains is a seven-minute drive from the hotel. The Adonis Baths waterfalls are a half-hour drive from the hotel and it takes about 90 minutes to reach Mount Olympos. Nicosia is a two-hour drive away. Paphos International Airport is 20 minutes from the hotel. The larger Larnaca International Airport takes 90 minutes or so to reach.

Huge water park for all ages, indoor and outdoor pools, beach, tennis courts, and lovely spa with premium skincare

King Evelthon Beach Hotel & Resort has a ton of features, with lots for kids and adults alike. The first things most kids (and adults for that matter) will notice on arrival is that there's a huge water park out front, complete with seven large slides plus a handful of toddler-suitable mini-slides, plus jets, fountains, and a lazy river. It's open to the public, but most of the packages for guests staying at the hotel include some level of access. The hotel has another three pools in addition, notably a main outdoor pool area with a huge outdoor lagoon pool with multiple whirlpool tub areas and an infinity edge, plus a smaller kids' pool. Just beyond the pool area is a grassy section with lounge chairs that separates the hotel from a sandy public beach with waters calm enough for swimming most of the time.

Inside, the hotel offers a heated pool for colder months with a quiet, spa ambience heightened by low ceilings supported by multiple mosaic columns. It's attached to the hotel's Royal Spa, which offers salt scrubs, cellulite treatments, waxing, eyebrow tinting, and facials using Spanish luxury skincare brand Germaine de Capuccini. Overlooking the pool is a fitness center with cardio machines, a few sets of free weights and resistance-training equipment, and a ping-pong table. There's also a floodlit outdoor tennis court with artificial grass and quartz sand, plus a basketball court, a beach volleyball court, and a mini soccer pitch. For kids, there's a poolside kids' club with a shaded playground for children ages 2 through 12. Animation programs for all ages -- ranging from arts and crafts to evening folk dance performances -- are held throughout the year. Conference facilities and wedding packages are also available, as are a variety of concierge services ranging from airline bookings to babysitting arrangements. Wi-Fi is free in the public areas. Outdoor parking is free.
