This hotel is solid pick, but bathrooms are on the small side and the location isn't ideal for travelers who don't have business nearby. Those who want to be within walking distance of Dallas's attractions and restaurants should look into Hotel Magnolia Dallas, located in a historic part of downtown.

A serviceable business hotel with a few extras
The lobby feels vast and impersonal with its vaulted ceiling and sand-colored tile flooring, but it is nicely compartmentalized into smaller areas that encourage social interactions. A large communal table sits in the middle of the lobby, with a two-computer business center on one side, and a lobby bar and lounge area on the other. The hotel welcomes guests with a free check-in cookie, as well as free fruit-infused water available in the lobby all day.

The 227 rooms at the Doubletree underwent a renovation in 2015 (along with the rest of the hotel), which resulted in their fresh and pleasant look, with textured brown accent walls, slate armchairs, and gauzy striped curtains. All rooms are air-conditioned and homey, with mini-fridges, microwaves, coffeemakers, 42-inch flat-screen TVs, digital music players, and work desks. Bathrooms have granite counters, shower/tub combos, and Aroma Actives toiletries.

The Doubletree has a zigzag-shaped (and unheated) pool; guests can enjoy food and drink service on the surrounding patio, which includes cabana-like lounge areas.
