Hyatt Place Dewey Beach

Although the beige building looks like a typical Hyatt Place, there's a distinctive modern style inside. A contemporary lobby with a wood-paneled front desk area greets guests. Further inside, there's a cozy seating area with a colorful polka-dot wall installation, back-lit tree mural, and patterned armchairs against a sleek wood-paneled backdrop. Still, this is a chain property, and hallways as well as certain common areas feel a bit stark and anonymous. With its private underground parking garage and the Lighthouse complex in the back, the property is a destination unto itself. The hotel also stands out as a newer, more upscale option than the many motels and beach-style hotels and rental properties in the area. Being only a block east of the beach, the hotel is popular among tourist families and couples. Business travelers may appreciate the spacious meeting spaces.

The Hyatt Place Dewey Beach offers a convenient location directly off of Highway 1, which runs through the heart of Dewey Beach. The location is ideal for travelers as the beach is just a short block east of the hotel. A trolley stops right near from the hotel and takes 10 minutes to reach the beach. The hotel also sits on a relatively central part of the main strip, allowing guests easy access to other activities. There are many restaurant options within walking distance of the property, as well as shops, bars, and music venues. Popular area activities like dolphin and whale watching, and deep sea fishing are available in the summer. The Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk is a seven-minute drive away and the historic town of Lewes is a 20-minute drive. Philadelphia International Airport is two hours' drive from the hotel. 

Guest rooms at the hotel have a sleek and contemporary decor with midcentury modern touches in shades of brown and gray. Bedroom areas have one king-size or two queen-size Hyatt Grand beds with white linens, as well as large wooden wardrobes. The rooms are partially separated from living room areas by sheer white screens. Living rooms feature sofabeds, leather ottomans, and wood desks with leather ergonomic chairs. All rooms offer single-cup coffeemakers and mini-fridges, along with free Wi-Fi, 43-inch flat-screen TVs, and safes. Modern bathrooms have white tile showers (or shower/tub combos in some) and offer KenetMD toiletries and hairdryers. All rooms have street views.

There are a limited number of one- and two-bedroom condos available with full kitchens, fireplaces, and large private balconies. Connecting rooms can experience some room-to-room noise. Past guests have complained of inconsistent housekeeping. 

Features are expansive. A free breakfast is served daily in a spacious breakfast area. Items include bacon, eggs, Greek yogurt, and fruit. Though there isn't a restaurant inside the hotel, the Hyatt offers a 24-hour room service menu and to-go items at Gallery Market in the lobby. Starbucks coffee and alcoholic beverages are also served at the Coffee to Cocktails Bar in the lobby. The hotel has two restaurants in the Lighthouse Cove complex behind the property on the bay: Que Pasa Mexican Cantina and The Lighthouse Bar, both open from April through September. The indoor saltwater pool is surrounded by a roomy deck. A small 24-hour fitness center is also available. Coin-operated laundry machines and a business center with three computers are convenient extras. The hotel is positioned one block from the ocean and a half block from Rehoboth Bay. Water sports are on offer on the sand. Three event spaces, including a bay-front meeting area measuring 9,000 square feet, are available for business gatherings and weddings. The property is pet-friendly for a fee. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
