Scene

Clean and orderly chain hotel

The hotel is set in a four-story yellow stucco building fronted by an expansive lawn and a large parking lot. The immediate area is quite busy, with several other hotels and office buildings. Inside, there is a spacious lobby with tile floors and a carpeted seating area beside a gray stone fireplace where guests can relax on leather armchairs. The breakfast room has lots of windows for nice natural light, and -- like most of the common areas -- red carpeting with a busy circular pattern; there are plenty of dark wood laminate tables and chairs, and the island seating area before a large flat-screen TV is a nice touch. The indoor pool is smallish and square, with a white tile deck and walls. Guests are a mix of tourists and business travelers keen on using the modern meeting rooms, complete with red- or brown-patterned carpeting.

Location

Off the interstate, about 15 minutes from downtown Denver

The hotel is located amidst offices and hotels on busy Peoria Street, just off Interstate 70. There are a handful of fast-food restaurants and a Starbucks within about a minute's walk, and The Shops at Northfield Stapleton are about a five-minute drive away on the interstate. Otherwise, for restaurants, culture, and the outdoors, guests will want to head into downtown Denver, about a 10- to 15-minute drive away. The Denver Art Museum and 16th Street Mall -- a pedestrian area with restaurants and shops -- can be reached in about 15 to 20 minutes. Other area attractions outside Denver include the Coors Brewery Tour, about 25 minutes away, and the Rocky Mountains, which can be reached in about an hour. Boulder is a half-hour away.  Denver International Airport is an easy 15- to 20-minute trip.

Rooms

Clean and spacious with flat-screen TVs and coffeemakers

Guest rooms are very well kept and spacious, with desks, flat-screen TVs, and coffeemakers. Suites have sleeper sofas, pillow-top beds, microwaves, and mini-fridges. Decor is generic but feels somewhat modern: clean white walls with mustard-yellow accent walls, red-patterned carpeting, crisp white bedding with red-patterned throws, and dark wood laminate furnishings. Suites have sitting areas with gray and brown couches and armchairs. Wi-Fi is free, though can be spotty. Walls can be thin in some rooms, so hallway and adjacent room noise can be an issue.

Features

Indoor pool and hot tub, small gym, and meeting rooms

The hotel has a nice assortment of features that make for a convenient, comfortable stay. The gym is small but clean, with carpeted floors and a handful of cardio and weight machines. Adjacent is a small indoor pool and hot tub, with towels available for guest use from a shelf on the tile pool deck. The guest laundry room has one washer and one dryer, while the small business center has two desktop computers and a printer. There are two meeting rooms with audiovisual equipment and dark-colored decor. Breakfast is free and includes hot and cold items, such as waffles and eggs, though some guests have complained of a lack of variety. Wi-Fi and parking are free. Pets are permitted for a small fee.
