Bottom Line

Part of the Marriott system, the mid-range SpringHill Suites Denver Downtown hotel is ideally located for those who want easy access to the Pepsi Center and the University of
Colorado’s Denver campus. Rooms are spacious and modern with new, comfortable
beds and Keurig coffeemakers. A fitness center, free breakfast buffet, and convenience store are unexpected extras and the views are lovely from floor-to-ceiling windows. However, with no restaurant and expensive
parking, this option is slightly pricier than other mid-range downtown Denver hotels.

Scene

Bright and modern, with a sleek glass exterior and contemporary art decor

With a sleek glass exterior, this hotel is bright and modern, vaguely
resembling an art museum or stylish office building from the outside. The lobby and open-plan lounge areas are clean,
spacious, and airy, filled with stylish leather couches and armchairs around long communal tables. The vaulted space includes bright
orange accents: light fixtures that resemble orange poppies hanging above the stylized gas
fireplace, little orange flags dangling from the ceiling over
the wide glass staircase leading to the mezzanine, and a piece of art above the reception desk that vaguely resembles a Georgia O'Keefe. Small, cylindrical orange lights
hang over the long booths and chairs in the breakfast restaurant, which, like
the fitness room, is situated in the all-glass portion of the hotel. With so much communal space, the open lobby feels lively at all hours; the hotel primarily caters to business travelers and those coming for conferences at the university.

Location

On CU Denver's campus, across from the Pepsi Center, within short walking distance of downtown Denver

Located downtown on the University of Colorado’s Denver
campus, the SpringHill Suites are across the street from the Pepsi Center, which hosts large concerts and professional sports events. Downtown attractions
like the 16th Street Mall, Larimer Square, and the Colorado Convention
Center are all about a half-mile away, within a 12-minute walk. Many
restaurants and bars are also within easy walking distance, less than 10
minutes from the hotel. Elitch Gardens amusement park is a 25-minute walk or five-minute drive from the hotel. The hotel is located off the busy Auraria
Parkway, which quickly connects to Interstate 25. Denver International Airport
is about a 32-minute drive without traffic and the foothills are about 30 minutes
to the west.

Rooms

All-suites accommodation that's spacious and clean, but bedrooms are not separate

The SpringHill Suites is a chain hotel, and, as such, all rooms look similar in style, with modern furniture made of polished dark wood, a brown and green color scheme, and artwork from Denver-area artists on the walls. There is plenty
of space, although the bedrooms are not separate from the living areas. A
seating area in the corner is set with a couch and floor lamps, and each room is equipped
with a flat-screen HD TV, free high-speed Internet, a mini-fridge, a microwave, and a Keurig coffeemaker. Bathrooms are narrow but also modern in style, with long
counters and large walk-in rain showers with glass doors. Most rooms have views of the surrounding downtown area, including the Pepsi Center and Elitch Gardens
amusement park.

Features

Free Wi-Fi and breakfast, and a fitness center

There is free high-speed Wi-Fi in every room and
throughout the hotel, as well as a free, extensive breakfast buffet that includes eggs,
waffles, coffee, yogurt, and cereal. Parking is available for a nightly fee. A large fitness center provides modern equipment and downtown views. While there isn't a full restaurant there is a convenience store where
snacks, beer, and wine can be purchased. Large meeting and presentation rooms can be reserved for special
events.
