M Hotel Downtown By Millennium

Occupying a high-rise building near the highway, M Hotel Downtown by Millennium puts travelers within easy reach of Downtown Dubai sights. Interiors are largely contemporary, but the warm earth-tone colors, patterned rugs and hallway carpets, and generic modern artwork on the walls gives an overall outdated impression. Nevertheless, ample on-site features and a convenient setting are notable pros. Additionally, the high-ceilinged lobby's triangular-shaped atrium is striking, and this shape can also be found at the small pool set within a large terrace. A sleek outdoor lounge with colorful seating and daily happy hour is popular, though travelers are largely off-site. Mostly business travelers come here, though the hotel is also frequented by families, couples, and groups of friends.

The hotel is located at the edge of the Business Bay area, with little in the immediate surrounds. Its setting next to a multi-lane highway makes walking to sights difficult, though not impossible. Dubai Mall and its numerous eateries and shops are a 15-minute walk away, while the Burj Khalifa can be reached in about 25 minutes on foot. Otherwise, guests can take the free five- to 10-minute shuttle, or a taxi. A free shuttle is also provided to Kite Beach, about a 15 to 20 minute ride. Mall of the Emirates and Palm Jumeirah are about 20 minutes away by car. Dubai International Airport is a 15-minute car ride.  

Rooms are done in a contemporary, albeit chain-like style with warm earth tones that give off an outdated feel. Expect simple wood furniture, cream headboards, and pops of red, orange, and gold in patterned rugs, curtains, throw pillows and bed runners, and generic modern wall art. Floor-to-ceiling windows let in lots of natural light during the day, but some past guests have complained of noise issues due to adjacent highway. On the plus side, modern amenities consist of work desks, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, minibars, and kettles. Closets have robes, slippers, electronic safes, irons, and ironing boards. Bathrooms and spacious, most outfitted with shower/tub combos, though separate tubs and showers are found in upgraded units. Hairdryers and free toiletries are provided.    

Business Class rooms add Nespresso machines, free breakfast buffets, and newspaper delivery.

M Hotel Downtown by Millennium has a variety of leisure and business features. A rooftop pool is pleasant for a dip, but it's a bit small, especially given how large the surrounding deck is. Cushioned loungers and some shady spots are available. A poolside bar serves a full food and drink menu, including cocktails, salads, and pizzas. Other dining options include the main Lemon Pepper restaurant, which offers buffet-style international fare for all three meals. Shoko is a bright, modern space with vibrant pops of color, and a menu of coffee, pastries, and sandwiches. Lighthous Terrace & Lounge is an indoor/outdoor lounge with casual seating and great views of the city and the Burj Khalifa in the distance. 

A spacious gym has a variety of cardio and strength-training equipment. An elegant spa offers massage and beauty treatments, a sauna, and steam room. A business center, five conference rooms, and three board rooms are on-site for business travelers. Wi-Fi and parking are both free.
