Bottom Line

Rock-bottom rates and relaxed, sunny settings are a big draw at the three-pearl Flora Palm Resort, which offers 72 comfortable rooms near Hisaronu. All-inclusive packages here are some of the lowest-priced in the region, and unlike competitor properties, there are no charges for in-room fridges, AC, or Wi-Fi, plus English-language TV channels are plentiful. Decor is low-frills, but not unattractive, and pool-centric features include lots of terrace space and a big waterslide. Food and drink are mediocre, as is the basic spa, but this is a solid value for families and couples. The Yacht Boutique Hotel is fancier, but pricier.

Oyster Hotel Review

Flora Palm Resort

Scene

Family-friendly hotel with low all-inclusive rates

Despite the super-low all-inclusive rate, this family-run establishment provides well-maintained grounds and contemporary (albeit plain) rooms. A crowd of mostly British and Turkish couples, families, and groups of friends come here to soak in the sun. Being a short walk from Hisaronu's main drag is convenient, and views toward the mountains are gorgeous. Common areas are less modern than the rooms -- think dated faux-leather seating and a white-painted canine statue -- but hardwood floors in the indoor bar and lots of potted flowers add attractive elements. Visitors typically make a beeline for outdoor pools, which can result in peak-season crowding, but lots of loungers get the sun, and offerings include a large waterslide, splash area, and designated quiet pool. Entertainment is hit or miss: belly dancers and barbecue nights are popular, while bingo and karaoke are less so. Anyone with mobility issues should note that there are no elevators on-site (ground-floor rooms are available).

Location

At the quieter end of Hisaronu

Guests tend to find the location just right -- removed enough from town to be calm, but a convenient five-minute walk to Hisaronu's restaurants, spas, and nightlife. Free shuttles run to "Blue Lagoon" Oludeniz Beach in about 10 minutes, although the route is also covered by a bus that stops nearby. It also runs to Kayakoy Greek ghost town and Fethiye, where attractions include a castle, amphitheater, and pristine beaches. The hotel is also near Oludeniz National Park, where mountain greenery is beautiful. Dalaman Airport is just over one hour away by car.

Rooms

Clean, comfortable rooms with outdoor spaces

Decent-sized rooms are outfitted in sand-colored walls and tile floors, with a cream and gold contrast in embellished drapes, bed throws, and throw pillows. While laminate-wood headboards, desks, and nightstands don't break up the neutral palette, they're contemporary. Standard Rooms offer a double bed, as do larger Suites (these lack living rooms, though), and Family Rooms with three extra twin beds sleep five. Wall-mounted satellite flat-screen TVs have more English-language channels than most regional hotels, and further comforts consist of air-conditioning, phones, desks, mini-fridges, and Wi-Fi. Safes are also provided, but they require a fee. Unfortunately, no kettles are provided. It's advisable to avoid top-floor attic rooms, as these have tiny windows.

Small, furnished balconies with views to the pool or mountains come standard, as do simple, but solid bathrooms in mosaic or checked tiling. They have cubicle showers, basic toiletries, and hairdryers. Note, upper-level rooms are reached by lots of steps.

Features

Plenty of poolside sun and food

Straightforward features are designed for the family-friendly, sun-filled break guests are seeking. While a quieter alternative offers tranquility, the main, rectangular pool is the property's focal point. Its rainbow-colored waterslide proves popular with kids, and toddlers have a small splash pool, well-placed by poolside terraces. Though tightly packed, cushioned plastic loungers and light-colored umbrellas offer sun and shade here, and visitors can expect music throughout the day. The constant stream of guests also congregate on protected or sun-drenched alfresco terraces.

Turkish buffets include kid-friendly fries and plenty of fresh salads, although quantity trumps quality here. Breakfast baked goods are solidly Turkish-themed, plus omelets or fried eggs are available. Alongside most soft and alcoholic beverages, food and snacks are all-inclusive (until 11 p.m. during our visit). Access to the spa's sauna and marbled Turkish hammam require a fee, and guests generally find the massages good. Don't expect a proper gym, but some outdoor resistance equipment is available. Entertainment varies, with most guests reporting they enjoyed barbecue nights (fee) and live dancing. Billiards and ping-pong tables offer additional entertainment. Pets aren't permitted. Parking, beach shuttles, and Wi-Fi throughout are free.
