c-hotels Ambasciatori

Though the beige exterior is a bit unassuming, inside, the c-hotels Ambasciatori lobby is sleek and modern with lots of glass. The design includes an abundant use of white, black, and chrome in the hallways and community areas, which evokes an upscale (if a little corporate) feeling. It's a large departure from the many classically furnished hotels in the area that incorporate historic charm. The vibe is pleasant and relaxed even though it's in a very high-traffic area of the city. There's also an elevator and the hotel is wheelchair-accessible. Tourist groups and business travelers frequent this hotel, owing largely to its proximity to train and bus stations. 

While admittedly not in the most picturesque area of Florence, the c-hotels Ambasciatori is definitely convenient. Located across the street from the main train station in Florence, it's approximately a six-minute walk to the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella, 10 minutes to the Duomo, and 15 minutes to Galleria dell’Accademia, which houses Michelangelo's David and Botticelli’s Madonna and Child. The exhibition and conference centre at the Spanish Fortress (Fortezza da Basso) is also just a few minutes away. 

Rooms at the c-hotels Ambasciatori are elegantly decorated in a mostly gray-and-white color scheme. Framed black-and-white photographs grace the striped walls and throw rugs sit atop wooden floors, while beds have crisp white linens. All rooms have wooden furniture with gray or white headboards, white suites also come with living room areas that have tufted chaise loungers and small dining tables. Amenities include large wall-mounted flat-screen TVs, minibars, and air-conditioning (though there have been reports of it not working too well). Electric kettles with tea and coffee fixings are also included. The rooms are soundproofed, which is useful considering the hotel's location in a loud part of town. Bathrooms have bidets and shower/tub combos, except in the Junior Suites, which have separate tubs and walk-in showers. Robes are provided, along with hairdryers and an array of toiletries. Rooms with scenic views are available across categories. 

The hotel lacks a gym, full restaurant, and spa, but it does serve a daily free continental breakfast in the Taste Breakfast Area. This area has an Asian feel to it with bamboo-covered walls, bamboo plants, and some high tables and chairs. The Sweet Lounge Bar on the first floor serves alcohol and has luxe velvet couches, rich colors, classic paintings, wall-sized bookcases, and modern furnishings. Room service is also available. For those in town for work, there's a business center as well as meeting rooms with audio-visual equipment and natural light that can accommodate up to a maximum of 200 people. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel and both self and valet parking are available for a fee.
