Bottom Line

With an unbeatable location tucked into an alley steps from Duval Street, Casa 325 is surprisingly quiet in spite of the many bars, restaurants, and shops surrounding it. There is an outdoor pool, with plenty of lawn chairs and umbrellas for shade. Rooms come in several sizes -- from a One-Bedroom Suite to a Four-Person Studio -- and all are equipped with small kitchenettes (the hotel does not serve breakfast), making Casa 325 a good three-pearl choice for families and groups -- though prices are on the high side. Guests are mainly paying for the location as there aren't any restaurants or many frills at this property.

Casa 325

Scene

Big white beach house with lots of private areas

Nearly hidden among the palm trees and tropical foliage, Casa 325 is a beautiful, large, white, beach house with a Southern-style wrap-around porch and sets of exterior stairs going all the way to the top Loft room. Across from the pool area, which includes a hammock, a handful of umbrellas, and neatly lined sun chairs, there is a second building with additional rooms and suites. The lobby is tiny and although a bit dated has a rustic beach charm -- there's a wicker couch, and the walls are adorned with fish ornaments. A wooden banister staircase leads to the rooms. Though kiddos are welcome here, most of the guests are older couples looking for a quiet spot in Key West.

Location

Hidden away but right off Duval Street

Casa 325 is tucked into an alley right off of Duval Street, and many restaurants, shops, and bars, including the Hard Rock Cafe, are within a five-minute walk. Key West’s historic harbor and waterfront are less than a 10-minute walk down the road, and Key West's museums and major sights are within a 15-minute walk. Key West International Airport is about 20 minutes away by car, and Miami International Airport is slightly more than two-and-a-half hours away. The nearest beach is Fort Zachary Taylor State Park Beach, about a mile away. While there is parking at Casa 325, it's limited and there's a charge for it.

All rooms have a private bathroom and range from One-Bedroom Suites to Two-Bedroom Suites that can comfortably sleep four or, in a stretch, six. The Lofts and Suites are large with separate living rooms with sofa and armchairs, as well as more spacious kitchenettes with sinks. Guests must request shampoo, conditioner, and hairdryers from the front desk. Wrapped soap is automatically provided.
