Havana Cabana at Key West

Havana Cabana Key West is located on the opposite end of the island as popular and crowded Duval Street. There is a big, renovated lobby with high ceilings, marble floors, a double staircase, and large palm-leaf overhead fans. Seating is scattered throughout the space, including a leather sofa, armchairs, and square dining tables. The outdoor tiki bar with lounge chairs and half-shell cabanas is surrounded by lush foliage and provides a relaxing place to kick back with a drink.

Located on North Roosevelt Boulevard, Havana Cabana Key West is across from a street and sidewalk that run alongside the bay. There is an IHOP next door and Outback Steakhouse is about three blocks away, but there are few other sit-down restaurants within walking distance. Publix grocery store is located about two blocks away. Popular tourist attractions, such as Duval Street, Mallory Square, and public beaches, are further away, but given Key West’s small size, are still within five miles and easily reached by car, cab, or rented scooter. Fury Water Adventures, about four miles away, offers snorkeling, parasailing, and other water sports.

Rooms at Havana Cabana Key West are on the first or second floor and overlook the pool or the bay. Water view rooms overlook a parking lot and busy street with the Gulf of Mexico on the other side. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, and small sitting area. Larger rooms have a private balcony or patio. Décor in the bedrooms is hardwood or leather furniture with lighter, cream-colored walls and tropical prints. Bathrooms are small with a shower/tub combo. A separate sink and vanity area is large with ample counter space. Most guests prefer the pool view rooms that do not face the busy street.

Havana Cabana Key West has a beautiful outdoor pool and well-equipped gym, but offers surprisingly few other amenities, despite being relatively far from the popular tourist attractions on Duval Street. The gym has free weights, cardio machines, exercise balls, and large picture windows that overlook the bay. The pool is in pristine condition and is surrounded by tropical foliage, plenty of lounge chairs, and has an adjacent tiki bar; the tropical atmosphere and provides privacy from the neighboring commercial area. Café at the Inn, the on-site restaurant, has outdoor and covered patio seating, but serves only breakfast and lunch. (There are few other sit-down restaurants within walking distance.) There is a small marketplace with snacks and vending machines on the lower level. Self-parking (available in the front and rear of the inn) and Wi-Fi are free.
