H10 Ocean Suites

Opened in 2015, this 200-room hotel mostly attracts British, French, German, and Italian couples and families. The fresh whitewashed exterior of H10 gives a pleasant first impression, as does the quirky decor in the lobby that's reminiscent of a boutique hotel. Design touches include a wall of fake suitcases behind the reception desk, and a beautiful tiled mural in the stairwell. While the hotel itself has fewer facilities than some of the island's larger resorts, there are two swimming pools, a large buffet restaurant, and a tennis court. 

Situated in the bustling town of Corralejo, this hotel is ideally located for a holiday at the heart of the action. While some guests stay on-site to relax by the pool, others spend their day exploring the shops at El Campanario mall -- a six-minute drive or 18-minute walk away. The hotel is a six-minute drive from the white sand beaches of Corralejo and a 12-minute drive to the Parque Natural de Las Dunas. As an alternative, Flag Beach is an eight-minute drive from the property. The pretty town of El Cotillo is around a 30-minute drive away, or just over an hour by bike. The Fuerteventura Airport will take about 30 minutes to reach by car.

The fresh facade of the hotel is echoed in its 200 Junior Suite that are decorated in a modern, neutral palette. Whitewashed walls, dark wood laminate flooring, and minimal furnishings make rooms feel spacious and elegant. Decorative details include framed maps, nautical-themed illustrations above beds, pendant light fittings, and white flowers or planters. Suites are furnished with a white sofa bed, coffee table, and LCD television on a wooden console table that separates the bedroom from the living area. Some ground floor rooms have a small step between the bedroom and living room. Other amenities include air-conditioning, a mini-fridge, and a safe that can be rented for a fee. Surprisingly, Wi-Fi isn't available in rooms. En-suite bathrooms are covered in white tiles, and have walk-in showers and double sinks. A hairdryer and hotel branded toiletries are provided. Each 35 square meter (376 square feet) Junior Suite has a balcony or terrace with garden or pool views, and patio furniture.

H10 has a good range of features, albeit fewer than some of the larger resorts, but there is plenty to attract vacationing guests. The main swimming pool has a loud and vibrant atmosphere, with aqua gym and water aerobics classes during the day, and a children's pool. Drinks are served at the main pool, while a second pool bar has a pleasant patio with drinks and snacks on offer. The second pool area has a much quieter vibe. There's a kids' club for children under 12, which includes a playground, water games, board games, and handicrafts. Pool towels can be rented for a fee. A tennis court and multi-purpose sports court are available for guest use, and can be booked at reception. 

Food is served in the main buffet restaurant on a half board, or all-inclusive basis. It's worth noting that drinks are not included in half board rates. The restaurant offers a varied buffet of hot and cold dishes as well as show cooking, and has a large outdoor terrace. The La Duna lobby bar has a small collection of bar stools, and serves alcoholic drinks, tea, and coffee. Downstairs, the Disco Blue Bar has a variety of evening entertainment, including shows and musicals, and a mini- disco. There is elevator access from the lobby to the downstairs restaurant and bar. 

The property has lovely spacious landscaped gardens, where yoga classes and French bowls take place. There is a small souvenir shop on-site, free Wi-Fi throughout the communal areas, and a car rental desk. A luggage room and courtesy shower room can be booked by the half-hour on arrival or departure.
