Scene

Chic and modern business hotel that draws tourists too

Hotel Forza Hakata is
located on a busy commercial street in a tall, narrow building built in 2012. The lobby area is modern and
spacious, with beige-tile floors and a large dark-brown reception counter backed by a wide abstract floral print -- a motif that repeats elsewhere. Long white banquette couches topped with pillows in shades the color of Neapolitan ice cream provide seating. An attractive brown-and-white patterned carpet marks off the space, and a laser-cut floral room divider adds a little privacy. The hotel caters to business travelers,
who make up a large part of the clientele, but it's also popular with couples and
families visiting Fukuoka for the sights.

Rooms

Comfortable rooms with nice bathrooms and luxe amenities

The 170 guest rooms at Hotel
Forza Hakata are spacious by Japanese standards. Beds are generously sized, and some rooms have sofas. Decor is
simple but pleasing, with dark carpets, off-white walls, and colorful abstract
floral prints. Bathrooms are comparatively spacious, too, with separate ceramic sinks (instead of the
molded plastic fixtures commonly found in Japanese hotels), and shower/tub combos. Some rooms, like the Hollywood Twin Rooms, have separate toilet and sink areas, and a “wet
bathroom" consisting of bathtubs and separate power showers. All rooms come with luxe extras, like iPads, Nescafe Dolce Gusto machines, Bluetooth speakers, and massage
pillows. Healing Double Rooms add massage chairs. All rooms have large flat-screen TVs, air purifiers with
humidifying functions, electric kettles, mini-fridges, pant presses, magnifying mirrors,
chargers for gadgets, and free Wi-Fi.

Features

On-site restaurant, computer and printer, and coin-operated laundry machines

A Japanese-style buffet
breakfast with a few Western items is served at the on-site Japanese restaurant, Sakana Ichiba, for a fee. The restaurant is also open for lunch and
dinner. In the pleasant library in the lobby, there are two computers available
for guests’ use, as well as a printer. A hot-drink machine
dispenses free coffee and hot chocolate. A small laundry room has a coin-operated
washer and dryer, and vending machines selling drinks; These are also found on
each alternating floor. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout.
