Travelodge by Wyndham Gardiner Yellowstone Park North Entr

The Rodeway Inn and Suites is a typical western roadside motel, with exterior entry rooms connected by green-painted walkways that run the length of the four-story building. It's surrounded by its own parking lot, but noise is at a minimum in this relaxed area that feels safe at night. Wildlife occasionally can be seen near the hotel, and mountains form the backdrop in the near distance. It's a convenient spot for tourists and families visiting the park, and there's a Yellowstone theme to the interiors, with framed photos of the park decorating timber walls in the small, rustic lobby.

On the western edge of town, the Rodeway Inn and Suites is located in residential area close to the main road in Gardiner. It's a quiet area where guests sometimes spot elk and other wildlife. There's nothing of interest on surrounding blocks, but a handful of restaurants, bars, and shops are within a 15-minute walk of the hotel. The Roosevelt Arch is five-minute drive from the away, and just beyond it, the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park is a seven-minute drive from the motel. Mammoth Hot Springs in neighboring Wyoming will take 20 minutes to reach by car. Expect a 90-minute drive to Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport.

The motel's 50 rooms all have exterior entries off of the parking lot, or from the shared open walkways on each floor. Some upper-floor units have mountain views, while some ground floor rooms have patios with tables and chairs, but they overlook the parking lot. All units are carpeted and they have a warm, earth-toned decor, with slate-gray walls, brown fabrics, wood furnishings, and artwork depicting western wildlife, like buffalo and wolves. Standard rooms have queen beds or two double beds, glass-topped wooden dressers, and leather armchairs, but little living space. Framed mirrors are accompanied by wall-mounted 32-inch flat-screen TVs, with coffeemakers and cups set on mini-fridges. Suites add living rooms with sofa beds, small dining tables, and kitchens equipped with full-size refrigerators, ovens with stovetops, and microwaves. The bathrooms are basic but tidy, with average shower/tub combos, hairdryers, and well-stocked toiletries. 

Amenities are limited at this hotel, but there's enough for a comfortable stay. A free continental breakfast is served at a counter at the back of the lobby, with two adjoining seating areas; one has rustic, high-top tables with wooden bar stools, and the other has regular chairs and tables in a windowless room. There aren't any other facilities except for a guest laundry room with coin-operated machines. Freebies include Wi-Fi throughout and on-site parking.
