Bottom Line

Chalet Village was tragically impacted by the November 2016 wildfires. We do not currently know the extent of the damage, but we will update our review as soon as we do. The rustic Chalet Village consists of private cabins in the gorgeous foothills of the Smoky Mountains. Close to ski resorts, golf courses, and hiking trails as well as attractions like Dollywood, these cabins allow guests to comfortably stay in or go out and enjoy what Gatlinburg and the nearby towns have to offer. Ranging from one to eight bedrooms, all units are differently styled but remain consistent in their charming, cozy feel (although some find it a bit kitschy).

Scene

A secluded, peaceful getaway in comfortable cabins with character

These private cabins provide a peaceful atmosphere for families and couples, and those on reunion, or business retreats. Comfortable, clean rooms, plenty of amenities, and fantastic views allow guests to relax without ever having to leave the cabins. The main lobby has a welcoming atmosphere that sets the tone with leather couches and a fireplace, with a computer on hand as well. However, there's no on-site restaurant.

Location

Located throughout the hills of Gatlinburg, near the Smoky Mountains

The properties of Chalet Village are located in the woods near the Smoky Mountains, with a variety of tourist attractions a short drive away. Ripley's Believe It Or Not and Haunted Adventure are about seven minutes away by car, as is the Gatlinburg Sky Lift. The Gatlinburg Convention Center, the Space Needle, and Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre are also less than a 10-minute drive from the property. It takes about 25 minutes to get to Dollywood.

Rooms

Clean, spacious cabins with gorgeous views and modern touches

The decor and layout differs between each cabin, but all units are comfortable, clean, and spacious with gorgeous views of the woods and nearby Smoky Mountains. The spaces have a rustic sensibility, with log wood bed frames, fire places, and animal skins, while still maintaining a contemporary touch with modern kitchens, flat-screen TVs, and whirlpools. Some find the look a bit kitschy, but most appreciate the authentic mountain cabin vibe.

Features

Access to Chalet Village Clubhouse, which has pools, tennis courts, and much more

Guests have access to the Chalet Village Clubhouse's three facilities -- Upper Alpine, South Baden, and North. They all have different amenities, including tennis courts, swimming pools, game rooms, showers, and concession stands. South Baden offers free Wi-Fi, and the North and South clubhouses offer banquet rooms.
