Bottom Line

This 56-room budget property is conveniently located within walking distance of most downtown Gatlinburg destinations, including the Space Needle and Convention Center. Although furnishings and decor are dated, the hotel is clean and as of winter 2015, all rooms were updated with new mattresses. Room configurations include spacious one-room suites that sleep up to six people, some of which have fireplaces and whirlpools. Though features are limited, the hotel does offer a seasonal outdoor pool as well as a free buffet breakfast. Budget travelers might want to check out Sleep Inn & Suites as well, which is downtown and has more modern rooms.

Oyster Hotel Review

Econo Lodge Inn & Suites At The Convention Center

Scene

Tidy, budget chain hotel with simple, dated interiors

This simple, budget hotel is housed in a two-story building resembling town homes with green A-frame roofs. A small pool is tucked between the building and the parking lot, surrounded by a low iron fence and a smattering of plastic lounge chairs and umbrella-shaded patio tables. The pool is the primary hangout area in warmer months as there isn't much public space inside the hotel. Inside, a small lobby comprises a rustic wooden front desk and a couple of old armchairs. The space is shared with the breakfast area, which consists of several four-top tables and two buffet counters. Clientele ranges from families to groups of college students, as well as the occasional solo business traveler.
