Bottom Line

The 97-room Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel is an upscale property located in Glasgow's West End, a two-minute walk from Glasgow Botanic Gardens and bustling Byres Road. Contemporary rooms are spacious, with elegant furnishings, large windows, and sharp decor, and some rooms have lovely views of the Botanic Gardens. There is a stylish on-site steakhouse, Bo'Vine, that's popular with locals and guests alike, and a chic bar as well. Guests also have free access to the indoor pool and fitness facilities at the hotel's sister property, the Hilton Glasgow Hotel, though it's a 15-minute drive from the hotel. Fees for Wi-Fi and parking are less-than-generous, and comparable rates and features can be found at the Grand Central Hotel in central Glasgow, where Wi-Fi is free.

Upscale chain hotel with contemporary decor

The Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel caters to a range of guests, with family fun packages on offer; on-site fax, printing, and mail services for business guests; and upscale suites with free wine available for romantic stays. The Hilton lobby entrance is inviting and chic, with a patterned rug, milky cream leather lounges, and a cluster of hanging globe light fixtures. The chic on-site Bo'Vine Steak Restaurant is dimly lit, with red and cream leather seating, varnished wooden floors, and a scattering of cow-inspired artwork. Bobar, the on-site bar, is modern and funky, serving cocktails from lunchtime until late in the evening, with slate tiles and cozy booths decorated in shades of gray. Both venues are popular with locals as well as hotel guests, who include plenty of business travelers, plus couples and families.

A one-minute walk to bars, eateries, and shops on Byres Road

The Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel is in the heart of the West End, conveniently located within walking distance of the Mackintosh House and the Hunterian Museum, Scotland's oldest public museum. The hotel is a two-minute walk to the Glasgow Botanic Gardens, with some rooms featuring garden views. The closest underground is Hillhead Subway, a five-minute walk from the hotel, and guests arriving by air are a 20-minute drive from Glasgow Airport. For a local tipple, the Oran Mor is a versatile venue located a two-minute walk away, housed in a former parish church, complete with a whisky bar, restaurant, live music space, and nightclub. Byres Road, a one-minute walk from the hotel, is the West End's main strip for eateries, bars, and shopping. For fine dining, the Ubiquitous Chip is a six-minute walk from the hotel, and comes recommended as one of Glasgow's top restaurants. Access to the city center sights will require a taxi or subway ride, the former taking about 15 minutes and the latter just a bit longer.
