The house itself is an impressive sight, with its centuries-old Cotswold stones, thatched roof, and creeping ivy, and the green grounds dotted with charming corners to relax in are the frosting on the cake. A lavender flanked path at the back of the property leads to gorgeous views over fields and farmland and the grounds bloom with flowers peppered among the grassy lawns.

Like the house itself, the interiors give the feeling of stepping back in time. Certain parts of the manor have a medieval vibe, with low-slung ceilings, arched doorways, and dim lighting. Details such as stone floors and exposed wood ceiling beams lend a rustic charm to the traditional decor that includes wooden antique pieces, oil paintings, and elegant armchairs. The elegant drawing room is full of plaid armchairs and a comfortable couch in a medley of cream and crimson colors. Floral curtains frame a window overlooking green lawns and trees and a large oil painting resides over the marble fireplace. The lounge is equally atmospheric and cozy, with a low ceiling with exposed dark wood beams and a stone fireplace that imbues the space with rustic countryside charm. There are plenty of armchairs and couches to relax in and board games are on hand.

The Charingworth Manor is located in the Gloucestershire countryside, in the charming Cotswold Hills, an area full of quaint villages and market towns. Surrounded by lovely green grounds and overlooking fields and farmland, the area is a serene and bucolic rural retreat. The manor is a nine-minute drive to Chipping Camden, a small and quaint historic town with several restaurants, shops, and bed-and-breakfasts lining its main street. Stratford-upon-Avon, birthplace of Shakespeare, is a 25-minute drive north. Only a two-hour drive from London, the property is a popular weekend getaway.

There are a variety of rooms available at the Charingworth Manor, some of which are located in the old main house and some in a newer annex. Rooms are elegant, traditionally furnished, and quite spacious in size. Decor leans towards simplicity and soft colors, with light walls and wooden furniture. Large, comfortable beds are topped with crisp white linens, patterned bedspreads, and decorative pillows. Some of the rooms have more of a cozy countryside cottage charm, with exposed wood beams in the ceiling, fireplaces, and antique pieces such as vintage wooden writing desks and dressers. Spacious Deluxe Rooms have small living room areas with comfy couches and suites have separate living rooms with fireplaces and flat-screen TVs.

All rooms are equipped with plasma flat-screen TVs and coffeemakers with free coffee, hot cocoa, and a wide selection of teas, though no minibars or mini-fridges. Free cookies and bottled water are a nice touch. Many rooms overlook the green lawns and gardens, but note that some have less thrilling views of roofs and chimneys. Some rooms have private terraces and direct garden access.

The property also has a fitness center with several modern machines, sauna, steam room, and a lovely heated indoor pool flanked by white columns, potted plants, and miniature palm trees.

The elegant John Greville Restaurant serves fine food with an emphasis on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and room service is available. Afternoon Tea service is popular and attracts travelers passing through the area, and a tasty breakfast is also available at the well-regarded restaurant. There is a small, cozy bar filled with red leather couches adjoining the restaurant.

The manor hosts weddings, conferences, and various events, and has several event spaces available, including the sun lit Upper Conservatory that looks out over the grounds, as well as the Lower Conservatory that opens up into the gardens. There is a helipad on the property, should guests choose to arrive via helicopter.
