Perched on a craggy mountainside a 15-minute drive from the beach, the luxurious Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity offers a quiet, luxurious stay. Although it is a large hotel, rooms and amenities are spread out across several buildings of just a few floors each, which makes common spaces feel less crowded than other properties with a similar guest capacity. The hotel’s seven pools are located on different levels, and the airy spaces allow for extra privacy and a relaxing atmosphere. With little to no entertainment during the day and mellow evening shows, the property is serene and romantic for the most part. The only moment of the day when there seems to be a little more hustle is dinner -- while there are several dining options, only the main buffet has no extra charge for the evening meal and so the dining room tends to be busy and a little loud at times. Still, those looking to party or traveling with kids will probably find this peaceful resort a little too quiet. 

Salobre Hotel Resort & Serenity is located in a secluded area a 15-minute drive northwest of Costa Meloneras. Aside from the hotel’s two golf courses, the landscape around it is arid, with large rocky areas and a few bushes scattered around. There is nothing within walking distance and a car will prove necessary for those looking to explore the area. The hotel runs a free shuttle service to gorgeous Maspalomas Beach, where it has a beach club complete with a plunge pool, bathrooms, and showers. From there, guests can walk to many restaurants and bars along the Maspalomas promenade.

The hotel has 313 rooms spread out across several buildings, all featuring balconies furnished with padded loungers and chairs overlooking the golf courses and the mountains. Decor is contemporary and understated, with a range of earth tones and crimson accents, large attractive headboards made with long wood planks, and dark wooden furniture. Though not all rooms are large enough to fit a desk, the smallest units have a seating area with a functional rolling tray that can also be used to work in bed. There are some scuff marks on some furniture and the striped carpet feels a little corporate for a beach hotel, but rooms are overall stylish and clean. Free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, minibars, electric kettles, safes, air-conditioning, and Sheraton’s Sweet Sleeper mattresses are all standard amenities. Upscale bathrooms are a highlight of the rooms and are equipped with separate showers and deep soaking tubs plus double sinks and an array of hotel-brand toiletries.

This property is located between two scenic 18-hole golf courses, one with a 71 par and another one for more experienced golfers. There are also seven pools here, all small but offering expansive views over the golf courses and the mountains. The highlight, however, is the adult-only pool of the rooftop deck, complete with Bali beds and access to a bar popular for its sunset views.  

Gofio is the hotel’s main restaurant, serving a solid buffet spread for breakfast and dinner. La Palmera (serving lunch) specializes in traditional Spanish rice dishes such as paella, and has outdoor seating by one of the pools. Additionally, the hotel offers two other dining options: Spanish cuisine at Camaleón and tapas at Perenquén -- but both come with an extra charge even for guests on half board. There is a champagne bar on a lower floor offering mellow evening shows and drinks. 

The upscale spa offers a Finnish sauna, a steam room, treatments, and salon services, as well as an outdoor hydrotherapy area and a relaxation lounge with a tea bar. The fitness center is well equipped and free for all guests, but there is a fee for group classes. Though the hotel is more popular with couples than with business travelers, there are 15 meeting rooms on-site, all equipped with up-to-date technologies.
