Room Mate Leo

Granada, Andalucia, Spain

The 32-room Room Mate Leo is a fresh and modern pick in the middle of Granada. While the location is prime, like most budget and mid-range options nearby, the city-center setting means that features are limited. Still, it's great as a home base for exploring the city. Free 3G mobile hotspots are given to guests so that they can connect to Wi-Fi throughout the city -- a nice perk that we don't frequently see. Each air-conditioned room comes with a minibar, electric kettle for instant coffee and tea, safe, flat-screen TV with some English channels, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are compact and have either shower/tub combos or stall showers. All come with make-up mirrors, toiletries, and hairdryers.

Hotel Puerta De Las Granadas

Granada, Andalucia, Spain

Puerta de Las Granadas is a budget hotel in central Granada, just below the Alhambra and a five-minute walk to the cathedral. This is a simple hotel, though it has a pleasant enough style and isn't woefully dated like some of its area competition. The hotel offers free coffee and tea throughout the day, a continental breakfast (for a fee), and an outdoor courtyard patio. There's also a gift shop in the lobby and computers for guests to use. Wi-Fi is free throughout. The 14 rooms all come with en-suite bathrooms, minibars, air-conditioning, and flat-screen TVs, though they are plain and many are small.

Granada Five Senses Rooms & Suites

Granada, Andalucia, Spain

Granada Five Senses Rooms & Suites is an affordable design hotel that's popular with budget-conscious couples on short stays who want a central location plus a little style without the price tag of a more upscale hotel. The hotel features colorful, modern interiors and each of its floors are named for the five human senses. There are some nice perks here, too, and the spa, fitness room, and rooftop splash pool are unexpected in this category in central Granada. The 75 rooms have dashes of style, but are a bit spartan. Standard features include free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, and flat-screen TVs, but only suites have coffeemakers and minibars. Certain higher category rooms offer free minibar items.

4

Melia Granada

Granada, Andalucia, Spain

This 232-room Granada chain hotel has a wonderful location within walking distance from Granada’s historic sights, shopping highlights, nightlife, and charming bars and restaurants. The rooms have free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and minibars, and some have lovely terraces with breathtaking views of the city and its cathedral. The Melia Granada has a restaurant serving breakfast and lunch and a lobby bar that serves coffee and drinks. There’s also ample event space and a small, but well-equipped, fitness center.

5

Granada Centro Hotel

Granada, Andalucia, Spain

The main thing going for the 32-room budget-value Hotel Granada Centro is its location -- despite the slightly seedy appearance of its surroundings (the street gets its share of grafitti). It's set right in the heart of Granada. Typical of accommodations at this price point, rooms are simple and amenities are basic, but Wi-Fi is free and breakfast, which is included in the room rate, can be taken at a nearby cafe. Although it comes with a fee, off-site parking is a bonus. All in all it's a solid choice for travelers who want a budget-friendly hotel right off Granada's main drag.

6

Senator Granada Spa Hotel

Granada, Andalucia, Spain

The 83-room Senator Granada Spa Hotel is a quiet chain hotel next to a park outside the center of Granada. Rooms are tight on space, decor is minimal, and furnishings throughout are a touch dated (including patterned bedspreads), but all come with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and free Wi-Fi. The hotel is attached to the Acquaplaya Spa & Wellness center, where guests can enjoy a variety of pools and saunas free of charge. Though a bit far from the city center, this is a good location for business travelers who are visiting the Exhibition and Congress Center.
