The 83-room Senator Granada Spa Hotel is a quiet chain hotel next to a park outside the center of Granada. Rooms are tight on space, décor is minimal, and furnishings throughout are a touch dated (including patterned bedspreads). The hotel is attached to the Acquaplaya Spa & Wellness center, where guests can enjoy a variety of pools and saunas free of charge. Though a bit far from the city center, this is a good location for business travelers who are visiting the Exhibition and Congress Center. Guests visiting in the summer who would prefer to have an outdoor pool may want to compare it to the similarly priced Saray Hotel nearby.

Senator Granada Spa Hotel
Somewhat standard chain hotel
Leafy green plants cascade down four levels of exposed hallways in the interior courtyard of the hotel. Wood paneling and fabric-covered furniture gives the lobby a somewhat dated look. Casual seating is lined up next to a glass display case housing a collection of over 50 antique clocks. Inside the café, drinks are sold from behind a wooden bar, and there is a cigarette vending machine. This property gets its relaxing reputation from the Acquaplaya Spa and Wellness center where guests can enjoy several pool types -- swimming pools with water jets, a small pool with a pebbled bottom, cold-water wells, or hot tubs.
In residential area by a park and Genil River
The hotel is in a convenient location for business travelers. It’s located near the Genil River, next to the park where the Exhibition and Congress Center of Granada is located. There are also some bars and restaurants nearby. The area is residential, and the hotel is mainly surrounded by apartment buildings. The hotel is within walking distance to the El Corte Inglés shopping area, and is less than a 20-minute walk to the Cathedral and Plaza Nueva. It’s a 25-minute taxi ride from the airport.
Small, bland rooms with mini-fridges and electric kettles
Rooms are on the small side at the Senator Granada Spa Hotel. Walls are yellow and there's not much in the way of decoration, except for the colorful -- and dated -- bedspreads in some rooms. All rooms have a desk, flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, stereo, electric kettles, and free standard Wi-Fi. High speed Wi-Fi is available for a fee.
Large spa center with several pools and a small fitness center
The most impressive feature of the Senator Granada Spa is its large spa center with saunas and several pools including a small pebble-bottomed pool, a small pool with lemon-water, a swimming pool with water jets, a cold-water well and a hot tub. The hotel has a meeting room, breakfast buffet area, and small café with a bar on-site. The hotel also has a small fitness center with a few stair-stepping machines and a treadmill.
