The resort is built in a Neo-Colonial style, with gurgling fountains, textured stucco walls, and wooden beams; the scent of incense adds to the ambiance. Because the resort is located a 30-minute drive from Antigua, it has a wide range of activities to keep guests entertained on-site. Several restaurants and bars, an infinity-edge pool with swim-up bar, kiddy pool, and the 18-hole Fuego Maya golf course are all located on the resort's grounds.
El Mirador Restaurant and Wayeb Bar have impressive views, but the food (and sometimes the service) at the latter leave something to be desired. The staff speaks limited English.
