Topping Rose House

Originally built around 1842 for one of Bridgehampton’s most prominent citizens, Judge Abraham Topping Rose, from whom the hotel takes its name -- the stunning Greek Revival mansion still anchors this intimate property, which received modern wings when the current owners revamped the hotel in 2010. Topping Rose has three room types scattered across the grounds, and each unit is equally stylish and contemporary with attention paid to luxe details. The House King features gray walls with white crown molding and wall paneling. Hardwood flooring is accented with a rug by Madeline Weinrib placed under the king-size bed made up with Frette linens. A camel leather armchair and ottoman add texture to the space and a pair of cozy window seats are topped with colorful throw pillows. All rooms feature flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, iHome docks, refrigerated minibars, bottled water, and free Wi-Fi. Closets provide ample hanging space, hangers, and drawers. The bathroom includes a glass-encased shower and marble vanity. Farmaesthetics toiletries and hairdryers are provided, along with robes and slippers. Cottages upgrade to either a private furnished patio or roof deck. 

Features here are as luxe as the rooms and location, and cater to a demanding clientele. Jean-Georges Vongerichten (one of the world's most celebrated and successful chefs) works his magic at the 75-seat restaurant. It's a favorite of locals and visitors alike thanks to farm-to-table fare featuring produce grown on the property's one-acre Topping Rose Farm. With a formal dining room, a full bar/lounge, outdoor patio seating with communal tables, and a fully-restored barn for private dining and events, the vibe can feel both intimate or lively. A full (and free) gourmet breakfast each morning rounds out the pampered experience. Hotel guests can opt to skip the scene entirely thanks to 24/7 room service. 

The fitness center is on the small side but has modern equipment and yoga is offered once a week. There's a small spa with a full treatment menu of massages and facials.
