Bottom Line

The upscale Conrad Hong Kong is housed in a gorgeous skyscraper in Central, taking up the upper-level floors of a large, high-end shopping center. Shops, restaurants, and public transportation can be found right below the hotel, and there are also plenty of amenities within the hotel itself, including four restaurants, two bars, a rooftop pool, and a well-equipped, 24-hour fitness center. But there's no spa, unlike at the slightly more upscale Peninsula. Luxurious rooms are outfitted in gold tones and have large windows -- many of which open up to gorgeous views -- flat-screen TVs, and large marble bathrooms with separate showers and tubs. It's popular among business travelers because of the location, but those who prefer to stay in Tsim Sha Tsui should compare prices with the Peninsula and the Langham across the water.

Conrad Hong Kong

Location

In Central, just a short walk from Hong Kong Park

The Conrad Hong Kong is located atop a shopping complex featuring shops, restaurants, a movie theater, and public transportation. It's on the outskirts of Central, just a short walk from Hong Kong Park. It's a popular choice among business travelers as it is also within easy reach of numerous corporate buildings.

The business and financial hub of the city, Central overlooks the water from the north shore of Hong Kong Island. Its skyline is defined by tall glass-and-steel buildings and has a modern look, but some buildings from the neighborhood's past as a former British colony and military port remain.

Many tourists stay in or visit Central; its mix of modern and historic is appealing, and there are plenty of sights to take in. Central is home not only to upscale shopping centers and top-notch restaurants, but it is also home to several beautiful parks and gardens. The Chater Garden features a zoo and a playground, popular among families, and Hong Kong Park is the site of the Museum of Tea, housed in a historic colonial building.
