Mini Hotel Causeway Bay Hong Kong

The Mini Hotel Causeway Bay Hong Kong is situated in a modern high-rise with a grid of windows on its facade. Decor inside is eclectic and trendy with moody lighting and artsy accents like pop-art prints and walls of framed photos. The lounge is roomy and playful, with the feel of a glam, fashion-forward hostel. A concrete floor and exposed-pipe ceiling offer industrial flair that pairs well with eclectic chairs (molded plastic, upholstered patchwork, cowhide) gathered into sitting areas. The long wood table here offers guests a place to hangout or relax. But with few amenities and no other common spaces, this is a hotel for guests who want to spend more time out of it than in it. With tiny one- to four-person rooms, this property attracts a range of budget-minded guests, from backpackers and solo travelers to couples and small families.

One of the hotel's best features is its central location on Hong Kong Island in the lively Causeway Bay neighborhood, a popular business and shopping district. Restaurants, bars, malls, and retailers fill the area, and Lee Gardens shopping is just a few minutes walk. Victoria Park is about a 12-minute walk. There are also plenty of public transport links nearby. It's about an eight-minute walk to the Causeway Bay MTR station, with bus and tram stops even closer. The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre is about a 10- to 20-minute drive, depending on traffic. Hong Kong International Airport will take 30 minutes to an hour by car. 

Rooms here are stylish and still fresh from a 2014 rehab, but they're truly mini with as little as 75 square feet of space for the smallest solo rooms, and not significantly more for doubles. Wood floors meet white wood paneled walls (accented with mirrors to make rooms feel larger), and bathrooms are just clear glass cubes planted in the rooms themselves. They're modern with faux marble walls and walk-in showers, but offer little privacy. Not all rooms have windows, but those that do are bathed in natural light thanks to the windows' large proportions.

Rooms have no desks or wardrobes, but they do include thoughtful and modern amenities a step above the usual budget spot, including 24-inch flat-screen TVs, hairdryers, kettles, electronic safes, air-conditioning, and free Wi-Fi. Towels, linens, and shower gel are also included, but other toiletries aren't, though they can be purchased in the lobby. Smartphones were at one time being provided for guests during the length of stay, but as of mid-2016 the hotel had stopped lending them out. Family Rooms are available for up to four guests and some rooms have tiny balconies. Guests occasionally note noise issues due to thin walls.

Other than the lobby lounge, the hotel has no extra property features. The front desk is open 24 hours and offers some concierge services, dry cleaning service, and luggage storage, and Wi-Fi is free throughout. There is no restaurant, bar, or wellness facilities, and no breakfast service is offered.
