The lobby is geometrically-inspired by circular and square shapes, with large round columns, blue gray decorative squares on white walls, and a shiny tile floor that curves toward a patterned carpet. Lighting also plays a key role design-wise, with lighted glass stairs, an illuminated front desk and columns, and large, round red lights in the hallways. Pepinos, one of the on-site restaurants, differs in style and decor and is predominately made up of wooden furniture, with framed Italian posters on the walls. Guests have noted that it’s sometimes difficult communicating in English with the staff. Most guests are business travelers utilizing the hotel’s close proximity to the convention center and on-site business amenities, as well as families drawn by the kid-friendly features like a children's corner and outdoor pool.

The hotel is located in the Wan Chai district, an affluent neighborhood with popular nightlife. Many attractions are accessible on foot from the hotel, such as Times Square Hong Kong and the Wan Chai Ferry Pier, which both take 12 minutes to reach on foot. To reach other attractions, guests can hop on the nearest tram, which is a three-minute walk away. For example, Causeway Bay, a major shopping area, can be reached in 20 minutes via tram. Other parts of Hong Kong Island can be accessed using the MTR Wan Chai Station, which is an eight-minute walk away. There is a superfluous selection of restaurants on surrounding streets. Hong Kong International Airport is a 33-minute drive away.

Rooms have a simple, contemporary look with blond wood or dark wood furniture and plush white bedding topped with jewel-toned accent pillows. The rooms aren’t very spacious, and upper-grade rooms don’t differ much in size or style, except for the Suites that do have separate living rooms with couches. Rooms include a wall-length desk that sits up against a floor-to-ceiling window offering partial views of the harbor or city. Some of the other amenities include flat-screen TVs, minibars, coffee/tea makers, safes, free bottled water, and air-conditioning, though Wi-Fi incurs a fee in Standard Rooms, but it's free in other categories. The bathrooms, though not spacious, have quite a bit of counter space, walk-in rainfall showers, hairdryers, and a range of toiletries.

The Novotel Century Hong Kong has a mix of family-friendly options and business amenities. The pool is a favorite feature here and offers views of surrounding high-rise buildings as well as loungers and woven couches and armchairs to spread out or sunbathe. The 24-hour fitness center is larger than most and includes a vast selection of cardio machines with TVs, weight machines, free weights, and an attached sauna. A buffet breakfast is served for a fee (included in some room rates). Pepino’s, an Italian restaurant, and Le Café, an international buffet restaurant, are on-site dining options, though guests have noted that they're expensive. Guests can also get a drink from Ak’s Bar and Lounge or order 24-hour room service. Business travelers can book a fully-equipped meeting space or use the business center. The Premiere Lounge is an exclusive lounge for guests staying in Executive Premiere Room and Suites.
