The mid-range Marvell Club Aparthotel has beautiful views of San Antonio Bay and a quiet waterfront location, but no direct beach access and it's a 15-minute drive from the famed Sunset Strip. A 2016 revamping of rooms and common areas transformed the property into a stylish, modern spot with a sea theme. The 103 rooms have kitchenettes, living areas with sofa beds, and balconies with plastic furniture. The complex includes a large pool with separate kiddy pool, supermarket, a buffet restaurant, and snack bar, plus all-inclusive packages are available. It's worth checking out the Fiesta Hotel Tanit, which is another all-inclusive with more entertainment and kid-centric features.
Scene
Modern aparthotel with sea-themed decor
Its Ibiza setting was undoubtedly the inspiration behind Marvell Club Aparthotel's 2016 renovation. Common spaces, such as the lobby, were given a total revamp and are now sleek and beachy with crisp white modern furnishings, blue lighting accents, and gray images of sea creatures dot the floors throughout the space. Large photo murals of sea life and scuba divers also adorn the walls. The property is fairly small, but it manages to pack in multiple dining options, and a large stone pool deck with a laid-back vibe. Thanks to a game room, kids' pool, and lack of poolside disc jockeys, families are the primary clientele. However, though it's a quiet, removed location from most nightlife, late-night noise is still a common complaint.
Location
Quiet location with views of San Antonio Bay
Guests at the Marvell Club Aparthotel are removed from the party-centric Sunset Strip, instead in a quiet waterfront location. The hotel doesn't have a beach itself, but there are a couple within a five- and 10-minute walk. Ferries and water taxis are also easily accessible thanks to the hotel's location on the bay. By car, the Sunset Strip is a 15-minute drive away, but a long 50-minute walk. There are some clubs and bars nearby that are a walkable distance -- Peppers 2 Ibiza is a three-minute walk, Mar I Pins Sports bar is six minutes away, and the popular Ocean Beach Ibiza is a 25 minutes by foot from the hotel. Plenty of restaurants are within easy walking distance as well. The Ibiza Airport is a 20-minute drive from the hotel.
Rooms
Modern, sea-themed rooms with kitchenettes
Marvell Club Aparthotel's air-conditioned rooms were renovated in 2016 with bright and modern decor. The design consists of light wooden floors, padded headboards in various beach-themed colors, and huge colorful wall murals of sea life images -- think whales, dolphins, and fish. Continuing with the island vibe, curtains, bedding, and throw pillows are in shades of blue and turquoise, which pops against the white walls. All rooms have furnished balconies with two plastic chairs and a side table, but not all overlook the water. Also standard are living areas with sofa beds, dining tables, flat-screen TVs, and kitchenettes. Kitchenettes provide mini-fridges, two-burner stovetops, kettles, microwaves, mini-fridges, a few pots, and dishes. Bathrooms have been redesigned, too; the contemporary spaces now have walk-in showers, wall-mounted hairdryers, and free bath products. Wi-Fi is free in all rooms.
Features
No direct beach access, but a big pool and pool bar
Despite being on San Antonio Bay, this hotel doesn't have beach access. A gate leading to the rocky waterfront behind the pool is permanently locked. However, the pool deck has a large rectangular pool and separate shallow pool for kids. Both are surrounded by plenty of loungers and umbrellas. Entertainment is provided a few times each week, though past guests have said it's mediocre. The only other kid-centric area is a game room with billiards and arcade games. Also in this room is a small meeting space. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout, and there are two computers with internet access available in the lobby. The outdoor pool bar offers drinks and snacks and both indoor and outdoor seating. Also on-site are the buffet eatery Cap Nono and Prizzi's Pizzeria, which are part of the all-inclusive option. A supermarket is also on-site with all the basics, including liquor.
