Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel

Design, luxury, and nightlife are the three words that best define this adults-only hotel. Anyone visiting Ibiza for its parties knows Ushuaïa, and for good reason. The property hosts the most popular poolside dance and electronic sessions by top international DJs several times a week, and its design is as cutting-edge as it gets in Ibiza. From the white facade with huge colorful flowers to the stylish interiors in red, black, and purple to the chic grounds, everything here is bold and sleek, making it one of the most striking properties on the island.

There are two sections here: The Club and The Tower, each with its own pool and vibe. With a location closer to the main stage and the heart of the party, The Club is where hard partiers stay. Even though DJ sessions end at midnight, the party usually continues until the wee hours. The Tower is slightly more exclusive, and has a somewhat quieter atmosphere, although it is within the same complex, and therefore “quieter” is a relative term here.

The hotel is located on a sandy stretch of Playa d’en Bossa, Ibiza’s longest beach. The Ushuaïa is considered by many the best party spot in Ibiza, but there are other famous nightlife venues within a short walk, including Space and Bora Bora. There are several other luxury properties around, and a number of restaurants and bars within minutes of the hotel. But the property is a destination unto itself, and few guests venture out. Ibiza Airport is within a five-minute drive and the hotel gets some noise from landing planes. The town of Ibiza is within a 10-minute drive.

Both the Club and the Tower sections have many types of rooms -- from Standard Double Rooms to Grand Suites -- but Tower rooms are a bit more high-end, with such features as platform beds, four-poster beds, even round beds; panoramic ocean views; outdoor whirlpools in some; and private check-in and iPod docks upon request. All rooms are stylish and modern, with bold color palettes and such amenities as free Wi-Fi, large flat-screen TVs, well-stocked minibars, blackout curtains, aromatherapy menus, and toiletry bags with an array of bath amenities -- and balconies furnished with padded loungers.

Some of the most popular rooms are those with a stage view, which allows guests to experience the best parties in Ibiza from the comfort of their rooms. Suites add stellar perks such as outdoor hydromassage bathtubs in the Anything Can Happen Suites, Turkish baths in the Oh My God Suites, and DJ tables in the I’m On Top of the World Suites. Some of the furniture shows signs of wear and tear, but the hotel is overall in good shape.

The poolside dance parties by top international DJs are the main draw here, but the property also has a rooftop lounge, two quieter bars, and several VIP areas for celebrities. Guests get free passes to all DJ sessions, and DJ lessons and production master classes are offered for a fee at the on-site professional recording studio.

The Club section pool is stylish and fun, with a generous number of padded loungers, drink service, and dance and electronic music playing throughout the day. The pool at the Tower section is slightly quieter but also popular, with an infinity-edge, a cocktail bar, and VIP areas with small plunge pools overlooking the ocean. Guests looking to get pampered can book massages in one of the hotel’s poolside and beachside huts, and those interested in a full workout can either book an hour with one of the personal trainers or head to the modern fitness center, which also offers group classes.

There are four restaurants here, including Minami serving Japanese and Mediterranean cuisine, Montauk Steakhouse, an oyster and caviar bar, and a beach club serving Mediterranean food, plus several cocktail bars are spread among the hotel.

With the hotel's price comes a number of freebies, including breakfast, Wi-Fi, parking, and tickets to the world-famous DJ sessions hosted by the Club pool. The property also owns two luxury boats -- the sailboat Aigion and the yacht Lymani -- which can be rented by the hour or day for short trips.
