Hotel Parle International

Hotel Parle International is a basic business hotel with functional facilities but uninspired decor, especially in its bar and restaurants. French doors open into a lobby that makes a conventional impression, with wood paneled walls and marble floors. An authoritative-looking reception desk is housed between blocks of black marble, with a lounge area on one side filled with worn chairs and couches. From there, the building is divided up into three wings with different room types and brightly lit hallways. By far, most guests are business travelers, with a few tourists staying for the convenient proximity to transportation. 

Hotel Parle International is right down the road from the Ville Parle railway station, a three-minute walk away, situated in an area between Mumbai's airports. It's a six-minute drive from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, and a seven-minute drive from the regional Juhu Airport. Travel times to area attractions can vary depending on traffic, which can be pretty congested. The closest area for dining and nightlife is Juhu Beach, about a 15-minute drive away. Mumbai’s commercial hub around the Bandra Kurla Complex is about a 20-minute drive. The Gateway of India -- where boats ferry travelers out to the Hindu and Buddhist ruins at Elephanta Island -- is about 45 minutes to an hour away. The iconic Indo-Saracenic railway station -- Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus -- is 35 minutes from the hotel by car. 

The hotel has 100 guest rooms with old marble floors, white walls, and dated floral fabrics, but they're tidy and comfortable, and decor has a cheery hint of color. All are air-conditioned with old window units that some past guests say can get noisy. Standard rooms have either king beds or two twin beds, and enough space for seating areas with coffee tables and a couple orange chairs, plus work desks and wardrobe closets. Executive Rooms add bay windows with cushioned window seats, and AC units are set in walls. Upgraded rooms are larger and grant access to a club lounge, and suites feature separate living rooms with couches. All units are nicely equipped with 32-inch flat-screen TVs, lightly stocked minibars, electric kettles, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are basic but also well-maintained, and they come with granite or marble sinks, average shower/tub combos, and toiletries, but only higher-end units include hairdryers.  

Drinking and dining is a highlight at Hotel Parle International. Nimantran serves quality authentic Gujarati cuisine buffet-style, and the free breakfast includes both South Indian and international options, including eggs. There's also a small cocktail bar with a decent selection and a 24-hour cafe. Another plus is the 8,750 square feet of meeting and event space. There are 11 rooms, including a couple of large banquet halls, with breakout rooms and support staff. In-house catering is available and the facility can accommodate up to 700 people. The hotel doesn't have a fitness center, but on-site parking and Wi-Fi throughout are free.
