Krishna Palace

Krishna Palace is a budget-friendly hotel with gorgeous Rajasthani-style terraced exteriors typical of higher-category properties. The lobby is simple, with a small seating area set with a pair of upholstered chairs and striking wall decor, including intricately painted ceilings strung with a couple of colored glass lanterns. Additional seating areas can be found throughout the hotel, with a few covered terrace areas in the hallways with small stools and tables. Most guests are budget travelers, including families and groups of friends who come here to take advantage of some of the larger rooms (with up to four beds).

This budget hotel is located in Bani Park, a primarily residential area just west of the Pink City with lots of smaller heritage hotels and private residences. It's a 15- to 20-minute walk to the Jaipur Railway Station, and the shops and restaurants on M.I. Road are just another five or so minutes away on foot. It's about a 10-minute drive to the historic Pink City. Getting to the main Gangori Bazaar and its surrounding historic attractions, including the City Palace, the Hawa Mahal, and the Jantar Mantar takes about 15 minutes by car. It takes roughly 12 minutes to reach Albert Hall Museum and 15 minutes to get to the Birla Mandir, both of which are south of the Pink City. Factor in about a half-hour by car for Amber and its major attractions, of Amber Fort and the Anokhi Museum. The airport is a half-hour drive away from the hotel, traffic permitting.

Krishna Palace offers a variety of simple rooms with one to four beds. Entry-level Standard Rooms lack air-conditioning and have simple and plain decor, with blank walls, beige-and-gray marble floors, and dark-wood furniture and doors. Deluxe Rooms and their larger Superior counterparts take things up a notch, with extra decor features such as stained-glass panels in the windows, painted archways, and additions such as tube-style TVs and air-conditioning. Bathrooms are consistently simple across categories, with wet room-style showers (which means just a faucet in the wall, and no tub or curtain) and small sinks with mirrors. Only soap is provided, so guests should be prepared to pack in their own toiletries. Note that some rooms show signs of wear and tear, such as water stains on the walls. 

Krishna Palace is a budget hotel and facilities are basic. There's a rooftop restaurant serving Indian and international food that can also be delivered to guest rooms. The hotel offers free pick-ups from both the railway station and the main bus station (guests need only call five to 10 minutes ahead of time), and airport transfers are available for a fee. The hotel also occasionally offers extra treats for guests such as free yoga classes and henna tattoos. Car and bus parking is available free of charge on the property. Other services include currency exchange, free hotel-wide Wi-Fi, and same-day laundry facilities. Travel services, such as flight and train bookings, can be arranged through the front desk.
