About a 20-minute drive to downtown and Indianapolis Zoo
No restaurant or bar on-site
Complaints concerning slow Wi-Fi
Fitness center lacks any weightlifting equipment
Rooms are slightly dated with some maintenance issues
The two-and-a-half-pearl Baymont Inn and Suites Indianapolis is a budget chain hotel that’s quite far from most attractions and points of interest in Indianapolis. The 75 contemporary, but dated rooms offer microwaves, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers. There have been a few complaints of maintenance issues. Amenities are a step above many budget properties thanks to a 24-hour indoor pool and hot tub, free hot breakfast, meeting room, and a small gym. Wi-Fi is a bit spotty according to past guests. For something romantic, check out Sybaris Indianapolis which offers lovely suites with private pools and hot tubs.
Standard chain hotel with dated decor and family-friendly policies
Housed in a three-story building that's typical of chain hotels, the Baymont Inn and Suites Indianapolis is about as standard to the brand as it can get. The lobby is homey, but dated in terms of decor with mismatched armchairs and sofas on gray and orange carpet. The windows are accented by old-fashioned small floral curtains along the top edges. Decor in the breakfast area is about the same, with wooden tables, gray chairs with olive-colored padding, and some chain-like art pieces on the walls. The indoor pool is by far the most popular space on the property, as it features lovely wood ceilings, brick wall columns, and lots of windows for natural light. With family-friendly policies like kids under 17 stay free, the majority of guests at this hotel are families seeking a budget stay.
A handful of dining options on surrounding streets, but far from main Indianapolis attractions
The Baymont Inn and Suites Indianapolis doesn’t have the most ideal location. It’s a 20-minute drive to downtown Indianapolis and the Indianapolis Zoo, and a 24-minute from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The closest attraction is the Ellenberger Park, an 11-minute drive away. With only three dining options (like McDonald's and Burger King) on surrounding streets, this hotel is best suited to those who have a car and need to be in the area. It’s about a 25-minute drive to the Indianapolis International Airport.
Contemporary rooms with flat-screen TVs, microwaves, and mini-fridges
Rooms at this Baymont Inn have a contemporary, budget look that could use an update soon. The color palette focuses on warm tones of cream, burnt orange, maroon, and tan. Rooms feature carpet, dated wooden furniture, and striped curtains. Amenities here include desks with chairs, flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, coffeemakers, microwaves, mini-fridges, and free Wi-Fi. Some suites have whirlpool tubs. Bathrooms are clean, but basic with shower/tub combos, toiletries, and hairdryers. Some guests have complained about maintenance issues in rooms.
Indoor pool, hot tub, gym, free breakfast, fresh cookies and coffee, free parking, and free Wi-Fi
For a budget property, the Baymont Inn and Suites Indianapolis provides a little extra in terms of amenities -- like an indoor swimming pool. The indoor pool and hot tub are open 24/7 for adults. After a certain point in the evening, minors are not permitted. There’s a small fitness center with three cardio machines, though no weights or weightlifting machines. The hotel provides a free hot breakfast buffet of French toast, eggs, biscuits and gravy, and sausage. Fresh cookies and coffee are offered in the lobby. A single meeting room, public computer, and printer are available for business travelers. Parking is free. Pets are welcome for a fee that includes treats. Free Wi-Fi is available, but guests complain about slow connection speeds.
