JW Marriott Indianapolis is a large hotel that draws conventioneers and upscale travelers with its downtown location and covered and connected walkway to the Indiana Convention Center. However, it’s also good for anyone looking for an upscale experience and don’t have a tight budget, as there are fees for amenities like safes, Wi-Fi, parking, and breakfast. Decor for the 33-story building is modern and trendy with great views of downtown Indianapolis from rooms and other public spaces. There’s a definite modern take on floral designs throughout the property in the form of colorful floral carpets and subtle floral art pieces on the walls. The restaurants and bars are especially trendy. High Velocity has an upscale sports bar vibe with vintage chairs, low lighting, and lots of flat-screen TVs. Osteria Pronto has wood floors, iron chandeliers, and black and tan chairs. There have been some past complaints about reservation issues and overbooking.

Travelers won’t need their car much when staying at the JW Marriott Indianapolis in downtown Indianapolis. For one, the hotel is connected to the Indiana Convention Center and the Lucas Oil Stadium via a walkway. It’s also across the road from Victory Field and a 10-minute walk from Circle Centre Mall. The Indiana State Museum takes five minutes to reach on foot. There are plenty of dining options within a 10-minute walk away and a bus stop outside of the hotel. It’s a 17-minute drive to the Indianapolis International Airport.

The rooms at the JW Marriott Indianapolis are fitting of the hotel -- stylish and modern. Think: Gray carpet, tan walls, dark wooden furniture, and sienna accents. There’s also lovely floral art pieces above the navy headboards of the beds. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, Wi-Fi (for a fee), and safes (for a fee). The rooms lack minibars. Bathrooms are spacious and clean with charming tan and cream floral wallpaper. There are glass showers or shower/tub combos, Aromatherapy Associates toiletries, and hairdryers. Some rooms have beautiful lake and city views from floor-to-ceiling windows.

JW Marriott Indianapolis does meetings best. It features one of the largest Marriott ballrooms in the world and has 54 meeting spaces that cover 103,000 square feet. There are a business center and a Fed-Ex shop for business travelers, too. Many business travelers also book Executive Suites and gain access to the Executive Lounge, which offers free snacks and drinks all day and meeting services. Wi-Fi is free in the lobby and public spaces, but costs a fee in rooms.

Leisure services like an indoor hot tub are also available here. There’s a spacious gym with LifeFitness cardio and weight equipment. The hotel lacks a spa. As far as dining options go, the hotel offers two upscale restaurants, one which offers Italian cuisine and the other, American cuisine. The breakfast buffet has hot and cold options and an omelet station, but isn’t free. There’s a Starbucks on-site. Room service is available 24/7. Valet and self-parking are available for a pricey fee.
