Studio City Court Yard Hotel

The Studio City Court Yard Hotel appeals to travelers on a budget who are looking for a clean, no-frills hotel near Los Angeles’s tourist attractions. The two-story motel is divided in two parts and surrounded by a few palm trees. Stairs with wrought iron railings lead up to outdoor hallways that provide a lot fresh air, but there's no elevator.

The lobby entrance is just off of Ventura Boulevard and features a night window and a vending machine outside. Near the front desk is a small breakfast buffet area with a waffle maker and a microwave; the space tends to get crowded in the mornings.

The hotel is located along Ventura Boulevard, the main artery in Studio City, near a Ralphs supermarket, a Starbucks, and lots of chain restaurants. The hotel is near the 101 and close to Burbank and Glendale. It’s a 20-minute drive (without traffic) to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Chinese Theatre, Madame Tussaud's Hollywood, and the Roosevelt Hotel. Universal Studios Hollywood is a 10-minute drive or 25-minute drive away. The Burbank Airport takes just over 20 minutes without traffic and the Los Angeles International Airport takes around 45 minutes.

Rooms at the Studio City Court Yard Hotel feature generic wooden furniture, earth-tone textiles, and brown carpeting. Some furnishings look worn or outdated. Rooms and Suites are available and come with either two queen beds or one king. All rooms have tube-style TVs, writing desks, irons, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers. Suites include flat-screen TVs, microwaves, homey sofas, small dining tables, and dressing areas. Tiled bathrooms are clean, and outfitted with small windows and shower/tub combos or showers; Suite bathrooms are more spacious. Windows have black-out drapes and most overlook the pool. Smoking rooms are available.

The hotel offers a heated pool that’s surrounded by a fence and red deck that is furnished with white, casual patio furniture. There's a second patio with a teal floor and a series of tables with red parasols and bursts of greenery. Smoking is allowed in certain outdoor areas. The hotel also has a parking lot and additional covered parking is available. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property and a limited number of newspapers are available in the lobby every morning.
