Gamma Plaza Ixtapa

Gamma de Fiesta Inn Plaza has a laid-back, but lively vacation vibe. The open-floor lobby has a simple design with blue accent walls and beige wooden sofas. It's generally bustling throughout the day with guests coming and going. Several meeting rooms situated adjacent to the lobby are used for different conventions and events, adding to the busyness of the lobby. The massive pool terrace and casual swim-up bar at the back of the hotel are generally busy throughout the day with kids playing and travelers hanging out socializing. With a tall waterslide and a few bars with flat-screen TVs, expect to see plenty of families and leisure travelers. Live music plays in the restaurant throughout the day and some evenings, adding to the lively ambience. 

Gamma de Fiesta’s location is both its strength and weakness. By day, the hotel is an easy five-minute walk to the main road through Ixtapa by all the restaurants and shops, like Senor Frog's and a movie theater. By night, the area is quiet and doesn’t have many streetlights or sidewalks. The white sands of Playa el Palmar are a 10-minute walk from the hotel.  The city center of the small fishing village of Zihuatanejo (a 20-minute drive) features popular restaurants, traditional Mexican food stalls, and the bustling Mercado. The Paseo del Pescador is a popular boardwalk bordering Playa la Madera which has plenty of restaurants and beach clubs with stunning views of Zihuatanejo Bay. The quieter Playa la Ropa is a 25-minute drive from the hotel. Travelers should allow 30 minutes of travel time to get to the Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo Airport.

There’s a bit of a disparity in the rooms at Gamma de Fiesta Inn Plaza. Some of the rooms are older with tube-style TVs and in need of an update, while others rooms are more modern and come with flat-screen TVs. Bed configurations can consist of two double beds or one king-size bed. Colors throughout tend towards white walls and sheets, red bedskirts, and brown furniture. There are a few pieces of landscape artwork on the walls for a little more color. All rooms feature coffeemakers, strong air-conditioning, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are moderately sized and the separate vanity helps to add space. There is plenty of counter space, standing stone showers, hairdryers, and toiletries. 

Gamma de Fiesta Inn Plaza offers features that are focused on vacation travelers. The massive pool terrace is located at the back of the hotel, surrounded by a tall wall to block out the street noise. A waterslide is situated at one end of the pool, and there's a casual swim-up and snack bar at the other end. The terrace is massive, with space for plenty of lounge chairs on offer for guests to hang out and sunbathe. 

Playa Linda is the spacious restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and is located adjacent to the lobby. The restaurant serves a buffet of traditional Mexican cuisine with a few international dishes. Guests can choose from the buffet or a few a la carte menu options. A small bar with a few stools is located within the restaurant, near a small flat-screen TV. Live music plays during the day and some evenings at the restaurant.

Wellness options are limited, but there are a few bikes to rent for an extra fee. A small shop in the lobby sells snacks and toiletries. A few meeting rooms are adjacent to the lobby for guests to rent. The hotel has a 24-hour reception desk, as well as concierge services for reservations, activity suggestions, and taxis. There is plenty of free on-premise parking available. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel.
