The Lodge at Jackson Hole

The Lodge at Jackson Hole is a quaint, rustic gem with a beautiful lumber and stacked-stone exterior that fits perfectly with the scenic mountain views surrounding the property. Inside, taxidermy animals and life-size wooden bear sculptures decorate the cozy, lodge-style interiors, though they might not suit all tastes. Even the artwork pays homage to the landscape’s natural beauty and the indigenous life of the area. The lobby has a soaring ceiling, antler light fixtures, and a staircase made of wood logs. While the carpet and some textiles feel a little outdated, they maintain the warm color palette of the Native American patterns found throughout the hotel. 

The hotel is situated off of a highway and surrounded by several restaurants, shops, and similar hotels. The biggest draw of the Jackson Hole area is the natural beauty and outdoor activities. Popular excursions include skiing, whitewater rafting, and wildlife safaris. The Snow King ski resort is an eight-minute drive from the hotel, while the National Elk Refuge is about seven minutes away by car. Other points of interest including the Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum and the Jackson Hole Rodeo Grounds, both about five minutes away by car. The hotel’s courtesy shuttle has regular routes to nearby Jackson Town Square for shopping and dining.

Guest rooms are spacious and tastefully appointed with lots of earth tones and Western touches like Native American textiles, horse paintings, and light fixtures with bear and pinecone details. Picture windows provide good natural light, and though rooms facing the front of the hotel have a view of the mountains, rear-facing ones overlook the parking lot. Amenities include iHome docks, Blu Ray players (with access to a lending library), 51-inch plasma 3D HDTV, mini-fridges, microwaves, and Keurig coffeemakers with Starbucks coffee, plus some rooms have fireplaces. Bathrooms are polished and modern with granite vanities, Molton Brown luxury bath products, and large walk-in showers or shower/tub combos. 

The hotel has an obligatory resort fee that covers many facilities and services, including the free shuttle service into town as well as airport transfers and seasonal ski shuttles (must be booked in advance). The lounge offers a full bar and the restaurant has a seasonal dinner menu. Room service is seasonal too, but the free daily breakfast buffet is a year-round perk. A small on-site spa offers several types of massages and body treatments, however due to size and demand, reservations are strongly encouraged. The majority of the pool sits inside of a large room with lounge seating and a small whirlpool. There's a retractable door that can be lowered for separate indoor and outdoor swimming, or raised to create one large pool. The hotel also has a fitness center as well as laundry facilities. Wi-Fi is also covered by the resort fee, though there are reports of spotty service.
