With three small resorts all right next to each other, it’s easy to pick out the faded blue and white signs for Merrils II on Negril’s busy Norman Manley Boulevard. Though the highway can be dangerous for pedestrians, the location in the middle of the beach is perfect for guests who want to walk to nearby restaurants, shops, and bars. The central location is also very convenient to nearby tours, activities, and attractions.

Simple but comfortable, the 44 rooms at this hotel are clean with few frills. Most of the standard rooms face the gardens, though some face the pool and a few look onto the water, and all have air-conditioning and a private patio or balcony. For larger groups and those that want a bit more space, the suites are quite large and include a separate seating area, kitchen, and large bedroom. Some have more than one bathroom, and all overlook the water, with private patios.
