AA Heart of Wildwood Motels

AA Heart of Wildwood Motels is split between three different buildings, and the building guests choose to stay in can drastically shape their vacation’s vibe. The beachfront building, which really is just steps off the boardwalk, is fun and rowdy. The rooftop deck, with its small pool and awesome ocean views, is where many guests spend their days. The pool scene here is loud -- filled with shrieking children (and adults) cannon-balling into the water -- and there’s lots of splashing. The rooftop pool is surrounded by white plastic lounge chairs and fake metal palm trees, as well as a few tables with umbrellas. From up here guests can see the bustling boardwalk and the nearly mile-long beach below.   

Guests choosing to stay in one of the two buildings across the street will find a much quieter, more easygoing scene -- minus the ocean views. Although there are two buildings on this side of Ocean Avenue, only one has a pool. Roughly the same size as the rooftop pool, the quieter pool sees much less action during the day. Of course, guests of the hotel are welcome to use both pools, no matter which side of the street they’re staying on.   

The lobby is located in the beachfront building, with its main entrance on Ocean Avenue underneath the motel’s red and white neon sign. The reception room sports a blue and white motif, with white blue leather sofas, white tile floors, and a blue and white striped check-in desk. A few blue shelves house local menus and guidebooks, along with a Keurig that’s free for guests to use throughout the day. 

Like its name suggests, AA Heart of Wildwood is truly in the heart of Wildwood. The oceanfront building is literally steps away from the boardwalk and beach, while the other buildings are about a two-minute walk. The entire motel is also within walking distance of many shops, bars, and restaurants. Morey’s Piers, the water parks, and the convention center are all within a five- to seven-minute walk. The only pitfall to this location is that it does get loud at night when hundreds of families crowd the boardwalk.  

On the spectrum of Wildwood motel rooms, those at AA Heart of Wildwood are actually some of the nicest. Rooms here are by no means modern, but they’re bright, well-lit, and have simple decor. Though the textured walls, light wood furniture, and green carpeting are a bit stuck in the ‘90s, rooms are clean. Light-blue (thin, motel-quality) bedspreads, wicker armchairs, and sea-shell artwork give rooms a subtle beachy feel. Most rooms are equipped with amenities like flat-screen TVs, microwaves, mini-fridges, and coffeemakers, while larger Efficiency Apartments have kitchenettes and separate living spaces.    

Having two pools is a rare feature in Wildwood, so AA Heart of WIldwood’s two distinct swimming spaces put it a step above the competition. But besides this, there aren’t many special amenities that separate this motel from the rest of its neighbors. AA Heart of Wildwood offers free parking and in-room Wi-Fi for all guests, as well as coin-operate laundry. Besides the pools, the prime feature here is the motel’s location, within easy walking distance to all of Wildwood’s major attractions.
