The tiny tourist town of Kanab isn’t known for its high-end hotels, but the 28-room, upper-middle-range Canyons Boutique Hotel is perhaps the town’s nicest option. In 2010, this hotel updated its rooms and added a stylish restaurant. Rooms are traditionally elegant and inviting, with four-poster beds, flat-screen TVs, patterned carpets and wallpaper, and coffeemakers; some upgraded rooms have fireplaces and separate soaking tubs. Nice freebies include a breakfast buffet and use of cruiser bikes for jaunts into town. The hotel lacks amenities such as a spa and fitness center but there’s a small pool that guests can use at the hotel’s adjacent sister property. The exterior of the upper-mid-range Canyons Boutique Hotel has a modern Victorian feel. Indoors, the hotel's entry is a two-story space highlighted by a sweeping staircase, walls accented with wood panels, and colorful glass chandeliers and wall sconces. Breakfast is a busy time here. The stylish breakfast room is the place for guests -- mostly couples and older leisure travelers -- to fuel up before setting off on journeys to some of the country’s most picturesque National Parks such as Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon, the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park (a local jaunt), and various Western movie sets. Those who prefer to explore the town of Kanab can hop on one of the hotel’s free cruiser bikes for a short ride to local shops, museums, and restaurants. The largest room offered by the hotel is the Penthouse Suite, a two-bedroom, one-and-one-half-bathroom space, located on the third floor.
The rooms are traditional in style with dark-wood or white furnishings, patterned wallpaper and carpet in shades of green and beige, white moldings, and gas fireplaces trimmed with white mantles. Modern amenities include wall-mounted flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. Beds are finished with plush white linens and comforters and topped with decorative throws and coordinating accent pillows. Small tables and side chairs offer additional seating for reading and working while armoire closets are stocked with extra blankets, irons and ironing boards, and robes. Mini-fridges and coffeemakers are also included.
The bathrooms are finished in white tiles with single vanities with black marble tops and a collection of Canyon’s Collection toiletries.
